@DistantDreamer93 Hiya, sut mae.Dwin dysgu cymraeg .Love this song and would like to have the welsh and english translation.Diolch yn fawr i chi, hwyl, paul.
1. You are right. I could be misunderstood. I am not hating English music. I just hate that singers from different (not English speaking) countries, sing in English. I thing that not only English sounds good when its singed. And only singing senseless bullsh..ts. All because of this globalization. It can be changed - by the audience. If the people will say: "enough of this, I want quality, I want diversity!" But they are brainwashed. What do you want when people dont read a book?...
Perffaidd! Beautiful voice, great song and general talent! Would someone be kind enough to put the lyrics up or a link where I could find them? Would be greatly appreciated. Diolch!
When ABBA was popular, they sang their songs in English but never in Swedish. It was bacause of their success in business. However I believe there is not a hit song in their work which is more bettter than a Christmas song "När Det Lider Mot Jul" in Swedish by Agntha and Frida. So I love that Meinir sings her songs in Welsh. It's a great thing to sing in his or her own language...
2. yes, you are right. today the problem is that money is leading all what is happening in this world. singers think that if they sing in English they will sell many CDs in the whole world and will be rich. yes, it happened that one or 2 Romanian bands had a good song and won a big interest over night in Europe, but after that they were totally forgotten, because this world is full with music bands and singers. but they still hope that they will be successfull again and still sing in English.
3. but they sell their albums only for Romanians. but nobody in World is listening to them no more. god Mammon (Money) made them like this. but this is the case of the whole world, and singing in English is encouraged by institutions like Eurovision. you see today Eurovision and all nations sing in English and American tipe music. thats crazy! you hope to see something local, beautifull, but no hope. and those few who do not sing that music never win. globalization... this is why I hate it!
I agree with much of what you say, szalard. Thing is- music companies assume they can only sell things in English. But they've never actually TRIED selling songs in any other language. On X-factor or whatever it was- the Welsh choir, singing in Welsh, was hugely popular, showing that actually people have more depth than the music companies think, and are happy to listen to other languages. I really think they should try harder. A LOT harder, in fact.
missionary of music not as religion, I think. Shintoism is one of the worlds most unique religions :). but of course, every nation should follow their own culture of making and performing music. unfortunately today the whole world became a colony of US type music. for example Romania, in which I live as a Magyar, every Romanian singer sings in English for Romanian audience and interestingly nobody asks: why this? this is a really crazy situation!
I totally agree with you. There may be a kind of principalin music: "Bad music drives out good".
For example in US there used to be a lot of good music many years ago. "Puff" by Peter, Paul and Marie, "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" by Bob Dylan, "Hotel _California" by The Eagles...etc.etc.
I think these good American music was driven away by bad one. Or should I say America is also a colony
of The Bad Musical Empire. And The rest of the world is tracing this history...
Though I cannot understand what she is saying, I am in love with this woman. Honestly, she has one of the greatest voices I have ever heard. OH IF I ONLY SPOKE WELSH!!!
That has an easy solution: Learn Welsh! ;-) Learning languages isn't has hard as people generally think. Good luck! Oh, and do tell me if you thought it was difficult! :-)
i'm catalan i've been in wales this summer with my family and i'm in love with the place it's a really beautiful place and was wondering if any of you guys could tell me a place to stay over this summer to work and study a little bit of your great language. ;)

The Japanese tribes are still "cultural colony" of US and
England. Most people know only "The Beatles" and hip-hop and Japanese pops called"J-pop". I'm so ashamed!
I wish Meinir to come to Japan as a missionary to convert us, the Japanese tribes, from fake music lovers to real
ones...
