I think he's doing great here. The audience isn't used to him and his humor. He adjusted his material in a way Britain can get to know him, without playing save. Old material becomes new here, I really liked it.

@ruikdoos Well, I can hear the audience laughing :-) They're uncomfortable, true, but my guess is they were not sure what to expect and then people are on their guard most fo the time, just like when meeting someone new. Plus, he's a foreigner to them, that counts too. And yet, they is laugh and applaud. How is that painful you think?

It because the kind of humor in the uk is not that of dutch that is more based on harsh policital statements and blunt slamming (like teeuwen is used to do )

Uk is more dark intellectual kind of humor (monty python, blackadder, ectra)

Teeuwen is for dutch understanding really good. But in the UK totally misplaced wrong crowd. To bad he did not adapt the humor to the ppl there..

About adaptation: I personally think that Teeuwen has to be himself on stage, which I think he is in these video's, because that'll show best if he's fitting in the UK or not. And you're right, he's different from the traditional English humor, but I don't think it's wrong or misplaced to do something different. I read some UK papers that reacted enthousiastic to him. I'd be surprised if he would become mainstream there, but he should keep going imo.
