  • @fixmajic My STI (stock) eats MS3 for breakfast, lunch , and dinner. So you can talk crap about dynamics , course time and

AWD powertrain loss. You get what you pay for. I even asume you drive a 1985 cavalier.

    ----------------

    No offence MS3 owners

  • @ColumbiaSpitchka none taken. haha. sti's are nasty. i won't deny that.

  • where did u get that thing that reads ur 0-60? i want one.

  • nice time..also recorded one with my dashhawk...i did 6.8 sec.i had my 2 cousins in the car and limited road space...i have a AEM CAI and a DP. yet have to find a nice flat street and do it again by myself

  • bad start but nice finish! hope you got a rmm!

  • hahahahahahaaha keep driving like that and those reliable ford parts are gonna start breaking HAHAHAHAHAH enjoy

  • thats a mean hatch man. before i got my mustang i was set on getting this car. love it.

  • what a shitty 2nd gear ratio

  • Why does the driver always make excuses like "bad start" or "cold tires" or "hot day with too much tire pressure and had to take a big shit" on these acceleration videos? If it's not your best effort, nobody cares.

  • whats mods are done to it?

  • I am trying to decide between a Mazdaspeed 3, VW GTI, Mitsubishi Evo and a Subaru STI. Which one is the one to go with?

  • @Hoodrat93 the evo and STI are both over $10,000 more than the MS3. if money isn't a concern to you then the evo or STI would probably be ideal if you're looking for performance. the GTI is also ~$3000 more than the MS3 without any additional features but has ~60 less HP, but then again it's German engineering so it's still a fantastic car. all in all the MS3 is a great car for the price.

  • @Hoodrat93 STI and EVO are for far out performance. The GTI is for the everyday car that makes ling trips. As a GTI owner, I love it for taking trips down the highway to visit relatives and go to work. I've driven the MS3 and tis a fantastic car, as are the STI and EVO. I'd say in my opinion the MS3 is an in-between of the STI/Evo and GTI. You might wan to consider the WRX as the STI is a bit more expensive.

  • @Xyrophobia WRX is too slow for me. And price isn't really a concern. Recently I have decided on A Mustang GT/CS.

  • @Xyrophobia I could not agree more

  • @Hoodrat93 STI! if you have the loot.

  • @iSnipedBambi whts the difference between the sti and the evo?

  • @iSnipedBambi nooo wayy dude evo rapes STI every single time!

  • @aXcaliz the new STI sedan is quicker than the Evo X and all previous models which doesn't matter but still they are technically faster now. Around the track and in a straight line I would take the new STI

  • @iSnipedBambi i'd go 2011-2012 WRX and mod from there... cheaper and still looks just as nice.. but i'd definitely go turbo+AWD.... ms3's are nice too though

  • @iSnipedBambi Evo is not in the same class as the MS3. It gets about 17mpg and costs nearly twice as much. The STi is a weak comparison to the MS3 in nearly ever regard. It's slower through the slalom by several seconds.

  • @Hoodrat93 STI but if you want to put the extra 8-10 grand into modding the Speed3 I'd say Speed 3. Depends on your salary cap. Like the NBA.

  • @Hoodrat93 Sti for sure, but like he says, they are pricy, but the best of those you mentioned

  • @Hoodrat93 Evo9 FTW

  • @Hoodrat93 if u have tht much money get r32

  • @Hoodrat93 evo!!!

  • Ideal launch is at just under 3000RPM.

  • @Skins4Life1989 It's a great car..I love it to death! I've had quite a few cars, This one is my favorite. Don't worry about shifting, this car damn near drives itself!

  • nice video. are you power shifting through all gears? any tips to help me improve my launch ?

  • @sean00fl yes, I am floored through every shift.....not good on the transmission, but sometimes you have to go all out. This is a hard car to launch, I suggest ALOT of practice! FWD is not ideal for launching, but this car is so fun it's hard not to let her rip!

  • @iSnipedBambi i have been practicing. I have done so without powershifting. I tried today 3-4 and it worked amazing good. but when i tried 2-3 i ended up over revving when i misshifted! arggg i hate that sound. anyways awesome vid and i will keep practicing!

  • @sean00fl Keep practicing...and remember, this car is a MAZDA, It was made to drive hard!

  • @Skins4Life1989

    very easy

  • What mods does this car have?

  • @Skins4Life1989 mazdaspeed 3 is relatively hard to drive smooth. So for someone who hasn't driven a manual before, it will be rough.

  • @mitsufq360 It drives like any other manual....Unless you like to stay in "Boost Mode" :)

  • Nice car iSnipedBambi! Hey I have a question... for someone who knows the concept of a manual car but hasn't done it before, how difficult would it be to get used to it on a Mazdaspeed 3. I really want this to be my next car.

  • @Skins4Life1989 The manual part isn't too bad. Practice with a manual gearbox for a while. The MS3 however, is notoriously hard to keep pinned in a straight. I mean, when I tested it there was alot of torque steer at launch but if you shift lower in the RPM range like a regular commuter it'll be smoother and save gas.

  • Gotta be flat shifting that, amazingly fast for an MS3, and I own one. I bow to your speed skills, sir. I can almost feel the torque moving the front end from here.

  • @skpruett Thank you sir! You are a Gentleman and a scholar.

  • @skpruett Thank you sir!

  • altered?

  • @bennyv04988 douche

  • whats are you payin for insurance on this if you dont mind me asking?

  • its a fast car, but 3rd gear is where u feel the power

  • he does not know how to drive a stick lol what a shame that car can go faster than 5.53

  • @jason11582623 I look forward to your video of you doing better.

  • @JimmyGunXD556

its coming next week my friend!

  • @jason11582623

no comment. you must be a professional driver

  • @jason11582623

considering the professionals rate this car at 6.1 id say i did a good job douche bag

  • i got 6.35 with two different programs

  • @badmonk3829

with a ms3? what are you using?

  • it kinda sounded like a fart on take-off. I love the Mazda3.

  • @TheJrgriffin no because it's slow as balls, and my minivan would fuck it over

  • @mitsufq360 would f*** over what? a 429 ford? or a mazda 4 banger?

  • @mitsufq360 SUV's don't count as minivans just so you know... so SRT-8's and ML63 AMG's are out :P

  • @mitsufq360 What a fag. You only wish you could have something as badass as a mazdaspeed3. Do us a favor, go back to your grocery go getter.

  • @MLinden27 Oh, ok I'll go do that, wait what's that in my garage. A black mica 09 ms3 sport, almost fully bolted.

  • @mitsufq360 haha. you are funny

  • no lift shift?

  • I take it youre not stock

  • @mathyu0179

this was shot w/ intake only....now I'm getting low 5's with current mods.

  • what year is this? and are all the years about the same 0-60?

  • @blindrawing

this is a 2008.5 all ms3's have the same motors w/ same hp and tq otput

  • yeah 6.6 positively pedestrian...yawn yawn.

  • I heard the wheel chirp in every shift the gear! cool!

  • nice times what done or is it stock?

  • @Cobaltxssx07

just intake when i recorded this video

  • Ya I got 5.6 still excellent, definitely not 6.6....

  • 0-100km/h in about 6.5 sek?

  • loved the second gear spin, considering one of these as my next car, I have a lightly modded v6 mazda6 now

  • @cyclist14

It's a great car, I absolutley love it. It's not that fast out of the gate, but at highway speeds it's a monster.

  • i think that is between 5.52 and 5.54, sheeesh!

  • who takes off at 2.5rpm man u can do better...like 4.5 or 5 rpm getchu up there

  • @onemillion your supposed to launch at 2,500 with the ms3

  • @onemillion

yeah...If I launch at that I will spin through all 3 gears

  • id say its damn accurate .. :) just even counting in my head it hit 60 a moment after i heard "five" in my subconscious little counting voice

  • @stevey500

Me too, I guess some people just don't want to believe it...It's not like I made the time up w/ a stopwatch.

  • Got my stopwatch and timed it. 6.6 Seconds, Your timer is delayed dude.

  • @gibsonlespaul2 Well thank's for your extensive research, but i think

i'm gonna trust the timer that's programmed to start when the vehicle

moves, over somebody on the couch with a stopwatch.

  • @iSnipedBambi Ha ha I was going to say... how the hell can you time it when your not there... stupid ass.

  • @MinnesotaJDM

    huh?

  • @iSnipedBambi hey man, where can i get one of those timers? and is it hard to install?

  • @gatewaykiller1000

It's a DashHawk...no very easy to install..they cost 250-300$ you just plug it inot the obd2 port, it monitors everything from boost to fuel pressure, and all enginge temps.

  • @iSnipedBambi I think it might also be that, if your dash hawk is reading from the rear wheels, then it would explain that half-second of lag between when the front tires squeal and when they actually hook-up and the car begins to move...

  • @coloneldd please read the video caption. 5.53

  • @Popachoppacity lol thanks for the :)

  • nicely done! shortshifting 2nd is key. on a stock turbo. 2nd is useless if rung out past 6k, it sets 3rd out to be at the end of the torque hill.

  • @Popachoppacity

    still wrong

    subies have f-4's (flat 4) they're not a v, they're horizontally opposed.

  • look at it go

    zoom zoom lol

  • yea correction a v4 is actually a Subaru engine.. my mistake

  • A Subaru is actually a H4 or an H6. The pistons are horizontally opposed, like a Porsche Boxer engine. Think of it like this: two people standing back to back, doing jabs with their hands. Thats how it works. Google "boxer engine" and some good pictures should come up =).

  • @jamesevanhenry Ah I see thanks for the info i'm going to go look at google now.

  • There is no such thing as a V4 in a car. :/ Try I4, L4, H4. ETC.

  • go look at a Saab Sonnet and tell me there's no such thing as a V4 in a car.

  • @gibsonlespaul2

yeah there are man they just dont make em anymore, but back in the seventies there were a few

  • @gibsonlespaul2

    Wikipedia seems to disagree...

  • Also a v4 is actually a motorcycle engine instead of saying v4 you can say two- stroke. Just for future reference....

  • wow very very impressive, is it a v4?

  • its an I4

  • oh i see, ty for the info, so when the pistons ares in L is it better?

  • Well I4 means inline 4 cylinder and it depends on what you want my friend.

  • It is an I-4 I as in INLINE.. It's 4 pistons arranged in a line a.k.a the shape of an "i"

It all depends there are all sorts of shapes of engines

    I

    V

    W

    etc,

  • and wich one is better? and why? sorry for my question but i rlly want to know, ty.

  • It really depends on ALOT of variables..

what make, model, what displacement (liters like "3.0 or 4.1" )

What it's made out of.. All kinds of stuff.. And it depends on what you mean by best. It all depends. Best gas mileage, best horsepower, best torque, etc. There are tons of variables so it all goes to a mix of opinion, and fact. Sorry, but it all depends on what you think do some research my man that's what i did when i asked the same question you are.

  • FINALLY a credible video!...

  • thank you

  • Is it a stock ms3 ?

  • this video was shot with intake.

  • Now here is a driver who can properly drive the MS3. Other drivers just spin the tires when chaning into 2nd gear.

  • I got 5.79, either way they're quick cars!

  • Is yours stock?

  • My bad I think I meant this car. My car is a stock HHR SS 2.0l turbo and I do it in 5.58 seconds.

  • I think he means shifting while "flat-out" full throttle. I have a passport timing tool, it works by plugging in your cars weight and drag coefficient. These types of computers are very accurate, but they dependent on correct data inputs, so just because the display will show a time, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be correct. end of run on sentence. I know your time is right.

  • nice shifting :)

  • timed it and got 6.2 from your speedo

  • The Dashhawk is very accurate. can you not see it say 0-60.9 in 5.53?

  • even use the video's time, he drops the clutch at :10 n get to sixty about :15.5... nice time, good job of shifting too

  • i used a stopwatch and timed from the shaking of the camera (launch) to sixty. using the youtube time by eye will not give you the desire accuracy -i'm only using this to reference my car (with my timing method = 5.5s)

the dashhawk is also known to be generous with acceleration and 1/4 times just because it says 5.53 it doesn't mean its 5.53. the problem lies in the fact that it doesn't respond (start timing) until a speed registers - which happens half a second after the actual launch

  • and most drag times aren't clocked until a car moves the first foot... and remember that the dashhawk has quicker reflexes than you, by about the time difference you have, it may be generous but 5.5 for the car is well in it's range, it's not unheard of...

  • Are you flat shifting? I can't believe you can flat shit that well on the stock motor mounts, my 1-2 shift feels like hell whenever I do it aggressively.

  • flat shifting?

  • nice times, i need a dash hawk :(

  • Thats a good launch for an ms3 ...lotta power to control ,,, I've heard alot posts saying the dashhawk not so accurate . BTW im an MS6 owner, ive drove the MS3 its deffinately faster after bout 40

  • WOT box it

  • very nice

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • 3rd gear will get you from 45-75 in a heart beat!

  • damn those gears are short, nice vid and quick car btw.

  • yeah, its more of an auotocross car. but 3rd gear is a BEAST!

  • im anxious to know if i can make those times on mine... just have to wait to have 600 miles on mine

  • is that car stock???? Thats extremely fast makes me wanna buy one...but im undecided whether to buy a focus st or this

  • all i have at the moment is the Cobb SRI intake.

  • well its very fast faster than a mustang gt i would say

  • yeah definitely, i've embarrassed a couple of them already. the better part is when i want i can get 25 mpg easy.

  • focus st??? are u retarded . this dude

  • Comment removed

  • nicee job! 2008.5 ms3 right?

  • yep 08.5, finally mastered the launch. I've been running 5.2 pretty consistantly. i'll post a video

  • what's different about the 8.5 over the 2007? i have an 07

  • the interior is a little different. same power train

  • just a tiny bit of interior trim changes. that's it. power train, etc is the same.

  • flat shifting?

  • got the dh too! hey what exactly is shortshifting? thanks!

  • hah nice even shortshifted 2nd

  • ALWAYS!

  • dude where did you get that speed thing that tells you the time,, i been wanting those for a long time now? thanks

  • I had a shitty launch, my best time has been 5.2

  • great, what mods you have?

  • Just the Cobb SRI. It has been running really good lately.

  • i have the cobb sri as well an love it. where did u get the dh from? jus the msd website?

  • actually I got it through Street Unit. They are reliable and Free shipping.
