Quite incredible. Makes for some watery eyes. It's a shame that in many respects Elliott's intentions weren't met. Parts of his life were revealed that he would've rather kept to himself it seems.

As someone coming to terms with their own past,these lyrics really did send me to tears.All i can really say is that at the time they made me feel a little better about everything.Wish we could've been there for you the way you tried to be for all of us.The quiet guy in bar,with more problems and fears than he cared to say outrightly.Hope you found the peace life never gave you.

@mymayapapaya in my opinion it's about being "abused" by religious guilt that is put on people so that they are supposed to feel guilty about everything they do. although I do know he wrote the songs mentioned above as well. i don't know for sure but see if it makes sense when you read over the lyrics with the song.

@done35start my friend that is so true, im 14 and my parents are very religious and so im not even really allowed to say it but i have absolutly no faith in "my" religion (roman catholic), i feel as though if there really were a god, which is beyond me because im just a 14 year old and that concept is a little over my head XD, he really wouldnt care whether or not you break many of the ridiculous rules there are in being roman catholic and ive always felt church is complete rubbish too

@done35start I think this song is about Elliott trying to make excuses for what he went through as a child. It's common in victims of abuse (and I know plenty), you put the blame on yourself because it happened at a young enough age where you were never psychologically allowed to interpret it any other way than "why?". And it doesn't go away with time.

i picked up some kogepan stickers in little tokoyo in downtown los angeles a few months ago when i was passing through. i didn't know what they were, but i thought them to be cute.
