How come Subaru doesn't use this as a commercial? It's more relatable than technical terms and going around curvy roads with no traffic. The handshake thing just add to the commercial potential. Symmetrical (engine and trans in the middle of the vehicle not offset to one side or the other), horizontally opposed (lower center of gravity, less yaw/pitch roll of the frame) really comes through it the German Youtube video. I love the old school beater Subaru's. They have more personality.
they canlt use this as a commercial. todays sube has no front end, todays sube has 5 mains on a dianty crank for alight body, todays sube has no rear end for heavier duty, it has no skid plate, solid "A" framing, and less steel inother places important as well. Todays sube would melt to this video...I have 140 hours welkding on the gl/loyale body. quite an epiphany of new and old. Do not even compare
@soobiewheelin Hahahaha I know right? I've got an 84 gl 4wd wagon and I tell people its 4wd and it is an epic offroader and they tell me nooo its awd... Haha I always tell them nah i got a dualrange in it too!!!
This reminds me of when I had to pull a Nissan Navara and a boat out of the ocean along the rural north west coast of Australia....in my Subaru Forester ofcourse. Nothing like owning the big trucks with an almost factory "station wagon".
As much as I like Subarus (I had GL, DL and an XT), that's nothing amazing.
The Toyota was stuck in DEEP mud. With the Subaru's lower clearance, had it been in the same position as the Toyota, the Subaru's engine would be breating in mud.
Because the traditional thought is that trucks are the best off-road, and in this video, a truck is buried in the mud and is being pulled out by a subaru stationwagon that is NOT stuck in the aforementioned mud.
haha i bought a 94 loyale wagon today for 75 bux and got it ruined allready i think i tore the side axel out of it becasue u have to put it into 4x4 to move lol and then its rear wheel drive
Yeah. He probably thought he would look all tough in his raised toyota. Now he has to get pulled out by a station wagon. Good thing it's a Scoobie wagon.
@Imprezaman555 lol yeah, to be fair though, my mate pulled me out in his toyota landcruiser when i managed to get my subie wagon balancing on the rear diff.
I was the guy that pulled him out, he was a good sport, had the roles been reversed he would have pulled me out. The wagon is an 88 DL with the GL tranny, 3 inch lift, 28 inch SSR swampers, EJ22 legacy motor and a locked rear end.
Take your pissing match somewhere else, the bullshit is getting pretty deep here, who cares whats better, the video is funny.
three far as deep to dig your own grave for you and your family. Old subies suck my fiend had one it was a piece of shit. The new STI's thats a different story my buddy's got one and he would tear you a new ass whole in your piece of shit you call a car!
its the matter of supidity...if u know u cant do it dont do it...but if u can...do it...i know subaru drivers wont do anything stupid...they know the limits to their car
the yota was in close to a foot of mud while sub was on solid ground a awd, 4x4 or 2wd truck could have pulled that out plus the yota was trying to reverse. I would like to see if that subie make it half as far as the yota.
*bursts out laughing* Oh m'gosh, that's so freakin' funny! I just love how the Subaru tries once, gains no leeway and then yanks back again and the truck just comes sliding across the mud :D
The location was the Hood River County fair grounds, the horse corral, specifically. The toyota driver was a good sport, although i never got his name, and no, my front bumper is no where near stock anymore.
lot of junk talking from a subaru on dry land i didnt see the subaru down in the mud

Wow because pulling someone out doesnt prove in anyway the ability of a vehicle in offroad situations.

You are an idiot
mexmiler 2 years ago
y am i an idiot? Cause its true? How in any ways does this prove Subaru's"rule" off road?
flight2k5 2 years ago
Because the traditional thought is that trucks are the best off-road, and in this video, a truck is buried in the mud and is being pulled out by a subaru stationwagon that is NOT stuck in the aforementioned mud.
Seems simple enough to me.
mexmiler 2 years ago 3
IT could also be because the subaru isnt in the hole that the truck is stuck in. hhhmmm
flight2k5 2 years ago
and maybe the subaru isnt in the hole that the truck is stuck in because it can get out of it.
