Listening to 'Young and Rich right now..on mint vinyl..through a 68' Sansui tube amp and '71' Pioneer cs88a's...fukin' heaven on a tues. after work...this band is so bad ass. .. Stand Up and Shout !!!
Yup---it's the "I Love Lucy" theme song intro (which makes it all the more bitingly-satiric). "Young and Rich" was, by far, one of my most favorite albums in the mid-seventies. Thanks for posting---*great* sound upload!
I remember the See the USA in a Chevorlet commercial jingle. Solar has a lousy memory. Jack Benny/Texaco -won't you fill up Jack Benny to the tune of 'Won't you come home Bill Bailey'. The Beverly Hillbillies (Flat and Scruggs) had a tie in with Kellogs and Winston. Andy Giffith = Ritz crackers "good cracker, good cracker". " Who wrote the book of love" apparently came from the Pepsodent commercial.
"...the medium is the massage..." gotta love the Tube-sters!
Above lyric is a tweak on the Marshall McLuhan phrase "Medium is the message" meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in the message, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.
"YOUNG & RICH" GREAT ALBUM, SHOULD BE OUT ON A CD!

I think it's from the I Love Lucy theme song.

It's both. Chevy used the nostalgic americana of the signature jingle lead in for Lucy in their ad campaign

Can you prove that?
