the 3.9 was only in 06 in the gtps 240hp and 245tq.... after that they were only in the verts... the 3.6 is 252hp and 251 tq.... also the 3.9 is not a dohc it is a single cam in the block... also the 3.9 makes peak tq at 2800 rpms

Dude, you can't just put it in KPH, if you have it in MPH then it's because it's probably an American car. The speedo is not digital, so you would have to change the speedometer cluster with a Canadian one. Look on ebay.

Actually, yes you can, you hit Menu->Select Units->Hit Enter to change from English to Metric, you can do anytime while you are driving or when the car if off

So what happens now if you wanna put an aftermarket stereo in now? It sounds like everything goes through the factory deck. If that's the case, then it's going to severely limit people to installing only a select few receivers or maybe even none that will allow you to keep all your features that come on the factory receiver. If that's the case, does anyone know a solution to this?

Never mind, it looks like there is a Driver Information Center aftermarket installation kit made by Metra, part number 99-3303. Amazon sells it. Although I was hoping for a solution for people who want a double din receiver, I guess this is a good start.

maybe e brake slide, your correct octane is 87, so I wouldn't be running premium gas. You could always get a tune and that would allow you to run premium fuel.

87 Octane will do fine unless you have a tune that revamps the timings for 91 or 93 octane. Anything higher wont cause damage but it wont change performance in anyway unless you are made to run on it.

85 is regular in some places with extreme high elevation, a lot of western states use it, because it acts like 87 at that elevation. Not sure about it though, i would still put 87 in as it wont harm it .

It's a 3.9 liter V6, 240 hp and 241 ft lbs. 4 speed auto is available in 2006, in 2007 the GTP got the 6 speed auto, in 2008 the GXP got the 6 speed auto as well. The 6 speed auto is only mated to the 3.6 liter, not the 3.9. Also, base g6s have a 2.4 VVT 4 cyl not a 2.2 (yes its still an ecotec tho)

Umm, many mags have gotten the G6 3.9L in the high 14 second range. Again, a full second faster than any Kia sedan. And, FYI, a 3.6L G6 two door can pull off as low as 14.5s in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah this is my car....and stock it ran a 15.3, slick track day, high 80s, low 90s for the temp and track elevation 1100 ft above sea level. With a simple adjustment i'm running about a 15 flat. I dont have many mods just intake currently and its opened it up alot....exhaust is next. I just want to dip into the 14s and I'll be happy. It's my daily driver and I rarely race. The only thing anyone's every done to a G6 is intake, exhaust, and either a Western or Vector ECM/TCM tune. You can't get too far from stock with just that anyway.

True, with a Intake, Exhaust, and Vector Tune some GT's have gotten close to GTP's, at least the 3.9L GTP's not the 3.6's since they have 12hp more stock. The Tune is what puts it over the edge, get like a 93 octane tune alone on a GT dynoed was 17hp.
