  • anyone know where i can find the tabs for the second song "who's sorry now"

been looking everywhere and can't find them.

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • Who i sthat guy on the right??

  • @Esjar207 Thom Bresh, Merle Travis's son.

  • @john4019 Thom Bresch.Didnt he pass away too?

  • I wanna see what s doing under that sweet chick's skirt

  • I think it's cool that we found out that Tom Bresh is Merle Travis' son! :) Pretty wild.

  • THEM BOYS WERE JUST FINGER SYNCING, THAT WAS ACTUALLY ME PLAYING ALL THE PARTS, WHILST THEY JUST 'PRETENEDEDEDED'.

AWWW, YEAH - SING IT TOMMY - WHERE IS MY FIDDLE?

    ROFL!

THAT WAS AWESOME, THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO - IT MADE MY DAY!

  • Great!!!

  • I love Chet Atkins' guitar playing but Merle Travis is absolutely special.

  • They put on such a mesmerizing show I didn't even notice the guy sitting in front of them playing rhythm guitar until about 10 seconds before the end of the video.

  • Now, if that's not a classic, I don't know what is!

  • How did Merle do all that with a thumb and one finger? No wonder even Chet surmised he must be using all fingers on the right hand. That's how Chet developed his style. This is a great post.

  • go to 2:19

  • Priceless... 8^)

  • im 15 and cant get enough of all this amazing guitar work i mean merle Travis and chet are the greatest and then tommy Emmanuel took it to a whole new level its just awesome

  • @hendrix0is0lord

You were doing fine right up to the whole "Tommy Emmanuel" bit. All I've ever seen him do is take already great songs and play them so fast they deteriorate into jibberish that all sounds the same.

  • @funstuff2006 yeah i can see where your coming from, Tommy does take it a little to far sometimes but personally i think he is the most technically skilled guitarist at present.I also think he has really done a great thing for finger style guitar and entered it into a whole new generation and kept it alive.keep an open mind about this stuff man

  • skills

  • Tom and Merle sound great together. True showmanship too...what an act!

  • Thom Bresh and Merle Travis are so wonderful here .... I'm so glad that this can be shared with others so we can see a little piece of time of the best guitarist in the world ! The greatest, Merle Travis . ( well... , Thom can " thumb " it great too tho ) ... thanks for the posting .

  • Thats back when showmanship was just part of the performance

Today people have no idea how to put on this kind of a show

There was a local group where I live who use to do this same thing with fiddles

The music is so great and like I said the showmanship well it speaks for its self

Thanks for the memory and post

    Paul

  • @ptalbany This reminds me of saturday nights listening to my dad. Travis was his hero. My dad died a few years ago, and I really like your posts. Thanks a million friend.

  • I have both of the 2 Vestapol DVD's of Merle Travis. YouTube has shown less than a quarter of what's on them.

  • Who's the other guy, and what show was this?

  • Grossman for guitar president you're a shoe in with all these absolutely priceless posts. Thanks again ;)

  • Priceless! Thanks so much for posting this!!!

  • Thanks for posting this!!
