well, I am 43yo and I used to dead pretty good, not THIS much!!! But 450-500 or so, about the same 4 squat. One wrong move in the gym in 1994 and I ruptured a disc (bent rows, being stupid when I placed the bar back in place). I still lift, but the stuff I really enjoy (legs) is not only gone, but I have endured a surgery and numerous episodes of incredible pain. Be careful with the weights, young guys! (yeah, I was looking at B. marsh of the Bronco vids, and I realized this was NOT him!)

Second, I have trained 16 Div 1 football players, and a Big Ten Track Champion. So if you ever want a leason in training, you have to ask nicely. If you want to get into this ok. First, the biomechanics of his deadlift are crap.The maintanence of a normal lumbar lordosis (curve in the lower back) is essential, and this individual fails. He does not drive the load up with his glutes and lower abs, instead, he pulls is up with his errectors. How does this help develop functional max strength???
Also, agility ladders are for toddlers. The "KEY" to speed is NOT max strength. Strength and muscular stiffness (neurological) is a component...
Single leg "shit"..hahahaha...you are a fool!!! The EMG studies show they provide superior activation of the glute max and med. Also strictly bilateral training leads to athletes compensating to one side or other. Unilateral helps fix/avoid this. I can go on all day pointing out how stupid your comments are. I can go into this for pages, but let me sum it up very simplistically. A. these lifts are not even close to the strength machnics you are seeking (running, even jumping!). B. Well im not the guy that started this with you, I just had to put my opinion in there. Second I do agree this guys deadlift form is horrible, is lower back is rounded the whole time, and no hip drive.
A squat that when hip joints go lower the knee joints (and using hip drive) already gives glute activation, not to mention the amount of testosterone these 2 exercises release. I will check it out though.
bench,deadlifts, run, squats, powerclean and effort haha, but try going for more reps then trying to see what your max is because what good is it if you can only lift it once...its obviously impressive whats done in this video, but im sure he does sets of like 300..work on explosion too, thats great for linemen

well, I am 43yo and I used to dead pretty good, not THIS much!!! But 450-500 or so, about the same 4 squat. One wrong move in the gym in 1994 and I ruptured a disc (bent rows, being stupid when I placed the bar back in place). I still lift, but the stuff I really enjoy (legs) is not only gone, but I have endured a surgery and numerous episodes of incredible pain. Be careful with the weights, young guys! (yeah, I was looking at B. marsh of the Bronco vids, and I realized this was NOT him!)

Im glad he feels like he has reached a physical accomplishment, but a heavy DL doesnt have any direct correlation with on-field performance. The young man also is lucky he didnt get an injury in his lumbar vertebrae.

Im happy for anyone who can make it in college football. But first my friend, I was a starting safety for Northern IL Univ., so i know football. Second, I have trained 16 Div 1 football players, and a Big Ten Track Champion. So if you ever want a leason in training, you have to ask nicely. Also, work on you communication skills, they are pathetic at best!!

it sounds as if you are jealous. and i dont believe you train that many athletes, if you did, you wouldnt be so stupid as to claim that maximum strength has no effect on field performance, obvioulsy there is no DIRECT effect but maximum strength is the KEY to enhanced speed, the rest is just hogwash.
i bet your the idiot who uses agiity ladders.
deadlifting is one of the best things an athlete can do, you still having your guys do single leg shit, and dinky tricep kickbacks?

If you want to get into this ok. First, the biomechanics of his deadlift are crap.The maintanence of a normal lumbar lordosis (curve in the lower back) is essential, and this individual fails. He does not drive the load up with his glutes and lower abs, instead, he pulls is up with his errectors. How does this help develop functional max strength???
Also, agility ladders are for toddlers. The "KEY" to speed is NOT max strength. Strength and muscular stiffness (neurological) is a component...

Single leg "shit"..hahahaha...you are a fool!!! The EMG studies show they provide superior activation of the glute max and med. Also strictly bilateral training leads to athletes compensating to one side or other. Unilateral helps fix/avoid this. I can go on all day pointing out how stupid your comments are. Put down the Muscle Milk, take off muscle shirt, take head out of your rear, and get educated on biomechanics.

I'm not saying you don't know what your talking about, but squatting and deadlifting are the kings of strength training exercises.

Thank you for atleast not being completely disrespectful this time. But, squats and deadlifts are elementary movements. They really are. I can go into this for pages, but let me sum it up very simplistically. A. these lifts are not even close to the strength machnics you are seeking (running, even jumping!). B. Most ppl dont squat or deadlift correctly anyways (and youll be suprised what correct is!). Check out Dr. Ivo Waterlop and Dr. Shawn Allens squat progression material if you want.Peace!

Well im not the guy that started this with you, I just had to put my opinion in there. Second I do agree this guys deadlift form is horrible, is lower back is rounded the whole time, and no hip drive.
A squat that when hip joints go lower the knee joints (and using hip drive) already gives glute activation, not to mention the amount of testosterone these 2 exercises release. I will check it out though.

bench,deadlifts, run, squats, powerclean and effort haha, but try going for more reps then trying to see what your max is because what good is it if you can only lift it once...its obviously impressive whats done in this video, but im sure he does sets of like 300..work on explosion too, thats great for linemen

lifting it once shows power, going from zero to maximum in a few seconds. that is the most important thing in athletics. I'm sure he can rep 500 easily with some straps. How much does he weigh? Kid is beasly, wish had his arm length. He is strong but he needs to add size to be competetive tight end or linebacker, he is just to small doesn't matter how strong he is.

what i mean by key is not that being strong will make you fast, but it will raise your potential, after that you have to realize that strength, take it or leave it, but eventually youl have to get stronger to run faster, in some shape or form, and maximum strength work is a very fast way to do that. p'c

I understand strength raises power production potential. You are correct. But would you saying increasing maximal strength at elbow flexion would equate to a higher VJ? Same here, the stregnth has to be specific to the movement. the firing sequences in the chain must be the related. Simply increasing deadlift max is not same as increasing Single leg "skaters", proper glut-ham raises, etc.
