  • Camille must see this!

    1. Over than $1bil damage

    2. Stronger

    3. Flood over than 1ft (until the roof)

    4. Stranded at the roofs

  • can you tell me what that staue was @ 15:44?

  • Which is The Strongest

    1.Hurricane Ivan

    2.Hurricane Igor

    3.Hurricane Katrina

Plss Tell Me which Is The Strongest Hurricane!

  • @DaKillZ09 Hurricane Katrina was it flooded all of Gulfport, LA

  • @DaKillZ09 3. Katrina

  • the memories r always w/me. my bff who lives 5 hrs from new orleans her stepfather's a flood adjuster & her hometown is meridian which was hit.

  • "Five years from now it will be as if nothing happened." Well, not really. My 80 year old mother lived a block from the beach in Pass Christian, MS (off 2nd Street). She moved 4.5 years later to a retirement center in Louisiana. Her husband died about 2 weeks ago and many friends from Pass Christian came to the funeral. I asked how the town was doing, They just shook their heads. Katrina changed me forever. I saw the best and the worst of this country. The worst still stings.

  • @doctorj2u2 See my reply to @karodaize147. My point was, once this drops out of the national news, it will be business as usual for most Americans. Except for anniversaries, who really keeps up with how Mississippi is doing? Anyone remember Ike in 2008? That hurricane and its aftermath were all but swept away by the flood of bad economic news that came out just weeks after the hurricane did tens of billions in damage along the TX and LA coastlines. I know MS is still in recovery and will be....

  • @hurricanetrack No criticism meant. It is what it is. It was just jarring to hear that comment knowing the history first hand. Thank you so much for posting the video. I was not allowed back in until 6 weeks post K. I will never forget it as long as I live. America in general still doesn't have a clue as to the scope. How could they? Pictures just cannot show it. I think the biggest lesson of Katrina is that politics should not be part of American disasters. It helps no one,

  • @doctorj2u2 rip to him. sorry that happened as i lost my sister in april

  • @TheSoulSearcher1 Thank you for being so concerned about America, since your life mission is to judge, maybe you should apply for GODS job.

  • "five years from now it'll be like it never happened."

    Haha yeah right.

  • @karodaize147 No one seems to get the meaning of what I said. Think about it carefully. "Five years from now, it will be like it never happened." To most of the world, that is the case, it's part of history. What hurricane? Since then there have been other disasters and news stories to distract probably 99% of the population from Katrina's aftermath. Our attention span is short, governed by sound bytes, YouTube snippets of video stories, etc. It's a deeper meaning than you think.

  • @hurricanetrack I get what you mean now. Most of us have no idea what's going on in New Orleans now. And truth be told, some of us don't even care, which is kind of sad. Japan is going to end up that way too. I guess that once we all realized that they could start building again, we abandoned them.

  • @hurricanetrack

Thank you. I lived in New Orelans East. Im from Cali, It was horrible. I cant even talk about it all. We lost everything....even during the storm it was the worst any one ould imagine. I dont even want to think about Haiti.. it doesnt stop. All this wealth, resoures etc...we should be ashamed

  • @hurricanetrack Not to mention if you weren't actually in the specific disaster. How would you remember it everyday after unless someone brings up the subject. People worry about future problems. Current daily personal struggles and concerns (like finding a job in todays job market) is enough to take your attention off of anything in the past. If we didn't log events/disasters on paper since the beginning of time, none of them would be remembered at all.

  • Dolphins =D

  • The lazy black negroes haven't even rebuilt yet.

  • Tanner McCartney likes teh boyz. but he has a secret crush for belinda cockly

  • is it just me or is hurricane katrina giving the middle finger to the live camera from minute 5:19-5:26?

  • this is a warninq so when in the future somethinq like this could happen (nd it will) not a lot of pplz will die. terrible thinq to new orleans ...... but we will recover just never forqet

  • Well done. Great documentary. We'll never forget.

  • Amazing footage thankfully i live in columbus georgia more inland but we have had hurricanes like ivan, opal, katrina and many more to cause damage where i live

  • why are so many homes near these hurricane prone areas still not built of bricks but of wood ?

  • @worstalentscout these areas normally don't get large hurricanes. Katrina was a once in a lifetime storm. But it is true, we should always prepare for the absolute worst. If we had, New Orleans would have never gone under. The storm surge walls were only rated for a category 3 hurricane, had they been full category 5 safety walls then all the damage and loss of life could have been avoided.

  • @baur02 This part of the coutry gets heavy storms all the time. Sometimes more than one in a year. Katrina was just a bigger and badder one than they are used to. So was Rita, but it hit frther west. Hugo and Ike were no bullshit either.

  • @tobiasrobbins72 where did rita & wilma hit? god bless all those lost in katrina in new orleans, Mississippi & Alabama. my friend lives in ms & her step-father's a flood adjuster & showed me pics of the flooded & damaged houses so sad.

  • @worstalentscout Cause the evil white man won't give the congoloids money to rebuild!! lol

  • @worstalentscout Because they cost less and are easier to rebuild.

  • hope the hurricane Julia will lose it's strength..

  • I hope you guys can cover some hurricanes that will hit Puerto Rico this year.5/21 will be strong.

  • @ShybutFunGal1234 Me too - I'd LOVE to see some nasty puerto rican beaners get washed out to sea!

  • 150mph in a hurricane is classified a typhoon. I think hurricane San Felipe II was like that.Hmm.. Such a strong hurricane to hit Puerto Rico.I also like Hurricanes. The only Category 5 hurricane to hit P.R.That hurricane had guts.

  • whats that starting from 11:53 ?

  • Great Jobs guys I know its hard to do this kind of job specially when your not with your family sometime it makes you want to say what if this happen to me what would i do i mean the winds of Katrina blew your house down its hard because you get frustrarted to start all over again

But hey thanks for sharing this video

But hey it was a really good document of the desaster of katrina

It must of been hard for you also not just for your family but to be out there with wind gust over 100 mph

  • that wasn't so bad . I was there. build a city on low ground, pretty smart. New Orleans

didn't get shit. The people on the right side of the eye wall got hammered. New Orleans will see more. A wall cant stop mother nature

  • Thanks for the amazing footage, you guys were pretty brave to put your lives on the line to bring this to us, but the true brave ones are the survivors of this storm. I had a friend from New Orleans i had gamed with for almost 2 years and i have not since heard from him. Looking forward to some new video's from you guys and i sincerly hope it wont be heartbreaking footage.

  • " Five years and it will be like it never happened." My home for nearly 30 years. I love that you covered the people who took up the slack and put their backs, checkbooks and enthusiasm mixed with hope into helping us. Thanks for showing the people who dealt with this.

  • "Raw chicken and bananas everywhere."

  • Hurricane Track thanks for posting this. I was in Biloxi, living on Clower St which was about 500 yds from the beach. I had to stay there due to the fact that I could not leave because I am in the Military. I think that this video will show people that we got the most damage in Mississippi. Don't get me wrong NewOrleans got slammed because of the leeves breaking, but we lost homes that were built in the late 1700's that are now gone. Thanks for this.

  • 17:03 (Five years!) It's really difficult to forget. Thanks for the footage...

  • @whiteseaair Yeah, I have no idea where that came from. I was probably thinking that the clean up and rebuilding would be swift. But it was only 48 hours after Katrina. How could I have known how truly devastating it really was? I wonder where that guy is now- the high school kid? Thanks for watching.

  • @hurricanetrack I understand exactly. I was stuck for days after the storm aware only of my surrounding devastation. Who could have known? I wonder where the high school kid is too.

  • @hurricanetrack He's probably in prison, according to statistics.

  • @whiteseaair 6 years now

  • @BlackSphinxBand A little more time until August 29th. There were moments I honestly thought the house was going to cave in! I must admit, growing up in New Orleans I don't necessarily fear hurricanes. That's the main reason most of us left so late. By the time I realized the consequences, I had to make a run for it. Hoping to avoid the storm, I traveled north to my parents, but it wasn't far enough. It was too huge and too fkn fast! We all face death everyday, this day it was too close for ME.

  • @whiteseaair yeah i no my cozin was in da middle of dat there youtube name is sphinxluvduvwuv

  • You should take refuge in a parking deck .. safest place to be your car will be swept right up lol

  • Do understand what I mean here is only in thoughts that people are not harmed !!. I want a hurrican to hit here in Fl. I like it. Storms, heavy rain, strong wind gust,a week away from work, two 18 packs, and chicken pot pie...ahhh paradise. lol I remember a long time ago Hurrican Floyd came through and standing outside in I think 60 mph winds was just awesome to say the least.

  • @Lamb00FGoD Yea man as long as everyone is ok ,, nature is a trip.. I live in wisconsin so we just get straight pounded with snow and that shit sucks and it drops down to about 20-30 below sometimes freeze yo mutha fuckin balls of.

  • @Lamb00FGoD I understand. Some people are absolutely fascinated by hurricanes. There is nothing wrong with that. It's a powerful phenomenon that we cannot control. To wish to be in one is common for a lot of people though many do not share those thoughts for fear of being thought of as strange, sick or twisted. Why? People do far more risky or questionable activities each day. And for those who appreciate the power of Nature, it is not meant as disrespect for the folks who are in harm's way.

  • thing thing put its foot in our asses..there will be more no doubt about it

  • 200kmh storm

  • @lasker96 damn man .. I get fuckin ass taped when its like 100 kmh wind ... but fuckin 200+ kmh is fuckin insane man :S

  • they sholud of went to mcdonalds

  • Dang this is CRAZY, MAN!

  • And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

    Exodus, 3. 6

  • @MrPersecutor1 get real

  • @lebronsmyboy6 The point I am making is, God has the power to heal, create and destroy. Repent and you shall receive salvation. The power of almighty god is on show here. Bless you my friend.

  • the power of god

  • 17:03 you said sumthing that just wowed me you said 5 years from now feel like it never happened whats crazy is almost 5 years later never left my mind.

  • that was just down from my noborhood

  • you guys probleby have a busy 2010 seoson ahead

  • whats so significant about those cases?

  • @mgreeper88 Watch part one and you will see.

  • Comment removed

  • Stupid gringoes!!!I I think U.S. is not the country everybody says it is!!! I believe USA is a country where people still lives in the 19th century! There is no architecture, no appropiate language, no moral values, and no vision of the world. Globalization doesnt exist on this country!

  • I hope u guys catch alex coming ashore...

  • @chynaeyez Wish we could have but we are not set up to travel to Mexico just yet.

  • yeah we seen it, we seen it live

  • that was a nightmare i really do hate it for those ppl i cant imagine that happening in my city it bring tears to my eyes just to see how it was in N.O my heart goes out to everyone mother nature is bitch indeed. again my heart goes out to all the ppl even though it happpen years ago its still sad (ppl please STOP making mean comments about ppl that were affected by katrina it could have been u) RIP unc. i wish i could have saved u it didnt have to be

  • did the oceanarium make it

  • @sk8rguy4life1123 No it did not. It was basically destroyed by the storm surge which was near 28 feet at the water front, perhaps higher.

  • being outside recording a hurricane or a tornado or a blach hole or any other kinda servere weather like this should be illegal

  • are you a storm chaser

  • @AdrianaDitective1 Sort of. More of a hurricane chaser actually, but we really don't chase hurricanes- we go to where they are going to hit and they run over us.

  • VERY nice video thanks good work

  • @MUSTANGMAN50LX Thank you. This is coming up on 5 years old so it is great to see folks still getting value out of it. I am afraid we will be adding more to the list this season- things look to be very active hurricane-wise. You never know, we might get lucky and nothing hits once again- but luck alone won't keep the hurricanes away.

  • amazing freaking footage 10/10 the best of the best

  • @BKkillaz You're too kind. That is appreciated very much. We'll be out there again this season doing what we do best. Be sure to follow along LIVE on our website when a hurricane is threatening landfall. We'll be on it!

  • The Hampton Inn (roof now completely gone): I sure hope the owners paid their insurance premiums that month!

  • i want to commet on something you said in this video. it's been six years and we still feel the effect of katrina. it is the hardest thing that we have been thru. i ask you to come back and look at us now they may build things back for the casino but not for the people there is nothing here anymore this storm was the worst thing that could have ever happen to us. so come back and talk with the people now after six years. look at it from our point of view.

  • @ucmsro I am hoping to get back in July for a look at things since that fateful event. And now with the oil gusher crisis adding insult to injury, I believe a follow up report is in order. Stay tuned!

  • Its only after weve lost everything that were free to do anything.

  • Was living in Jackson, MS at this time and was just back down in Gulfport on Thursday. The part at 17:00 saying 5 years from now it'll be like it never happened? Nope. Be 5 years in a few months and it's still VERY empty. Not at all the same. So sad.

  • I really enjoyed your footage great work guys

  • we did not have school for about two months after this happen, then the weeks after waiteing in line for hours to get MRE and water,

  • Im still wondering what would happen if a hurricane that was stronger than Katrina would hit the same areas Katrina did but stayed a category 5 because it weaked to 4 at landfall then a 3 when it got to Slidell-Mississippi coast area.

  • i was in hurricane katrina and wait is that sharks 3:13

  • dolphins :)

  • @zingpick Those are dolphins in the pool. They moved them from the oceanarium to the pool to save them.

  • @zingpick From what I remember, the hotel was allowing a zoo or a Sea World-type place to keep their dolphins in the pool for safety purposes, then they were returned after the storm

  • @zingpick Dolphins

  • @zingpick: If you had payed attention, you would have known they were, in fact, not sharks, but dolphins.

  • @zingpick Really? What did you loot?

  • @zingpick No, its dolphins,if you need to..rewatch the video as the recorder put info at the top of the scene. It wouldve been cool to see the dolphins swimming in your living room but yet scary. Carry on. :)

  • @zingpick nah, they are dolphins

  • Hurricanes can and do often spawn tornadoes. Tornadoes often have wind speeds significantly higher than hurricanes. Tornadoes are tiny compared to hurricanes. Some of the widest tornadoes are maybe a mile wide while hurricanes can take up most if not all of the Gulf of Mexico. Tornadoes last maybe minutes or seconds while hurricanes last hours or days.

  • Actually prior to 1979 all tropical storms/hurricanes had female names. Then they began to alternate with male names as they do now (male one storm then female the next storm). I do not believe it ever alternated male one year and then female the next year.

  • hurricane destroys house.

    Oh my god

  • Three factors makes a hurricane dangerous the wind, rain and the storm surge. The strongest hurricane, which was Wilma had 185mph sustained winds and gust over 200mph. These winds are strong enough to destroy even some of the strongest buildings, storm surge can be as high as 40ft and rainfall in excess of 3ft. These are are really, they are actually the most powerful storms on the planet.

  • why are there dolphins in teh swimming pool???????????

  • they moved them there from the oceanarium on the beach so they would be safe...the oceanarium was destroyed.

  • @brancool88 they were evacuated...

  • This is going to sound really mean and retarded but anyway I've been looking everywhere and I still don't understand what makes hurricanes so dangerous is it the wind power or the rain? Is it because they cause floods or something?

  • i think all 3.. im not so sure what causes a hurricane either...

  • hurricanes feed on water!!! the hotter the water the stronger the hurricane. think of a twister in water that is what a hurriane is like, all three elements are VERY! dangerous

  • to zigzag girl...the reason why they name hurricanes is to keep track of how many hurricanes they have in a hurricane season...years ago and please people correct me if im wrong but they used to name them men names one year and then womans the year after and rotate year to year...and for some reason they use mens and womans names now

  • Can massive drops of dry ice from planes kill a hurricane at sea? I heard they tried it once.

You guys must get a rush out of doing these hurricanes? Least I can fly through them. -Supergirl

  • where there dolphins in that pool

  • Are those real dolphins? (Homer) No, dad, those are sharks. (Bart) Yes, daddy, those a real dolphins in the pool. They put them there because they would be safer. (Lisa) Yeah, dad, are you stupid or somehing? (Bart) BART!!!! (Homer)

  • Yes, they were put there by their owners a day before Katrina hit. They lived at the Marine Life oceanarium and would have been killed otherwise.

  • i dont get y ppl name Hurricanes human names. like Katrina and Andrew..

    its weird.

  • What would you rather have? It's giving the hurricane it's identity to the people of the U.S. They have trouble understanding scholarly terms...

  • The water was so high they could have went swimming in their fuckin living room. How much more messed up could life get?

    I can't even imagine.....

  • @CalisCool Most negroes would like that. They'd consider it "pimp" to have a pool in the living room, since they're too poor to afford one otherwise!

  • looks Devastating!!could the storm be any more deadly.

  • How did those huge Fish get into the pool there?

  • great video

  • Thank you for the answer and the video.

  • Yep. We learned the hard way. Never thought we would lose the Storm Cases in the first place. That was our first error.

  • Yes, they were put there by the folks at Marine Life, an oceanarium in Gulfport, to protect them from the lethal storm surge at the waterfront. Since dolphins are mammals they can survive in that water for a short period under careful supervision and be okay.

  • can i ask why there as dolphins or wateva they were in the swimming pool :S ?????? sum1 answer

  • They probably put them in the pool because the aquarium was no longer safe.

  • a taste of things to come

  • If you think this is bad, than realise how hurricane ''Mitch'' was....

  • OMG... that's just awesome . :)

  • not really, when you go through it..

  • yeah i can imagine it 2 b scary. I never really appreciated the power of these storms until i saw this docco. :)

  • awesome dude!

  • i wodner what happened to the ones that escaped safely... what abotu there identitiys? passports?

  • It's kind of interesting. One of the things said was, "But life will go on, right? Five years from now, it'll feel like it never happened." Well, it's five years later and that's pretty much true... sadly.

  • It's not five years later.

  • Heh! Four years and a few months. ;)

  • I wonder if you encountered any snakes? I was living in downtown Mobile, al. three flights up. I really worried about snakes but I was lucky that non showed up on the balcony.

  • Did not encounter any snakes at all where we were. The ocean water would have been too harsh for them initially. I am sure snakes were a lot more of an issue in New Orleans.

  • YOU SAW IT LIVE! LMAO

  • Dolphins ? wtf ?

  • Looks can be deceiving. We know what to do, where to be and more importantly, where NOT to be. I see your point but you cannot just sit in a car and film a hurricane. It can be very dangerous and we did end up leaving the Chevy Tahoe and taking shelter in the hotel where it was much safer. We also were not anywhere near the Gulf which was at record high levels that afternoon. Our remote cameras, which we ultimately lost, were put at ground zero so we could remain safer- not 100% safe but safer.

  • it figures somebody from canada would try and say hurricanes arent dangerous

  • hahaha yeah

  • Could you swim with the dolphins if you wanted to?

  • No you could not- not that day. You would have been rolled up.

  • whats rolled up?

  • Rolled up is our way of saying something bad would happen- as in yelled at, besmirched, asked to leave, etc.

  • I would have risked it :) it looked deserted to me

  • They were moved there from Marine Life, an oceanarium in Gulfport, for their safety. They are mammals so they can survive in a pool for a little while if needed.

  • ok what was with the dolphins, please let me kno thats really irritating. =p

  • That storm was kinda dangerous, don;t you think?

  • wel obv its trashed n smahed everythin

  • How the fuck did those dolphins get there O.o

  • dude ur in ur car?!?

  • how did you get that footage and why are there fish swimming in the pool?

  • whats with the dolphins?

  • Actually, it was labor day 1935.

Katrina covered a much wider area. The hurricnan force field of Katrina was far larger, and that is why it was far more destructive.

This is a good disaster video.

  • At 3:04, why are there dolphins in the pool?

  • HEY YALL thanks for the footage.1930 HURRICANE key west still recounded as the worst storm in history with wind,s over 200mph.

  • omg were there dolphins in da pool ..........?

  • This is as close to a hurricane as I want to be - chilling! 5/5 stars.

  • No one but God helped me through it an with his help I can say, "I am a survivor." not just of Katrina but of death that came...

If you ask a person can someone who can't swim with no access to their roof survive in water over 10ft they will tell you no one can survive that.

But with God, he makes the impossible possible.

  • it was, some hotels were already crowded with visitors 2 the city

It is easy 2 say run when U have some thing R some place 2 run 2. Where do U run when there is nothing 2 run 2?

U have no money. Some places & some stores hiked up the prices so what little U have becomes meager especially when some stores only see dollar signs

I didn't want anyone 2 take my picture. I didn't want anyone 2 watch me die because they had 2 have footage

I wondered will he just watch me die just 4 footage?

  • I can't believe that someone stuck around to take this video. But I do thank them for putting their lives on the line. After this, I would never move back there.

  • was this near rt 10. and did you stay at the hampton inn. or near the casinos. how many miles was this from say ft walton beach fl. this is great footage- its part of history.

  • harbour porpoises are a dime a dozen. They are common and everywhere. no big loss

  • how did you get 22:34 lol

  • in his youtube profile below his avatar it says "Director" directors can upload more than 10 minutes. Pretty much anyone who has some sort of word (Guru, Musician) below their youtube profile avatar, they can upload long videos.

  • Awesome videos. I subscribed..

Just a future suggestion; I would write on the storm cases "Please call (your #), when found for a reward" or something of that nature.

most likely you might get it back once they clean up and someone finds it :) ..

    Great job tho..

  • Incredible footage! Thanks

  • that was terrible the way the hurrican but mostly the powerful winds but i lve in new york upstat ny and that is trrible even to be shooting this video i just cant belive this and if your reading this now you have got to now that thosewho lived there and who did or lost a love one we should give them shelter or some where nice for those who lost there homes and are still living for who nos where among us it is just sad

  • I live 8 miles west of New Orleans. Returning home two weeks after Katrina was one of the worst experiences of my life. I felt like I was returning to a third world country. No electricity, no running water, devastation everywhere you looked. At night you had to sleep with the windows open and all night long all you could hear were the sirens and the helicopters flying overhead. The military presence was overwhelming. We were grateful for their presence, but it was still very surreal.

  • What's up with the Dolphins in the pool? The was pretty freaky looking.

  • is it possible to see the recovery effort now???
