Does anybody remember the treasure map they packaged with this game and how u had to get the password off of it by soaking it in water or something? Was I the only one SUPER STRESSED OUT by this?

I remember being stuck on that part for quite some time :P But when I eventually soaked the letter in water and the invisible writing appeared !! I was like, shiiit !!! this is so fucking awesome !! :p Its just epic.. they dont make games like that anymore.

@Potetskall As it was a cool idea back in the days it also prevented those from playing the game who didn't have the letter, which was kinda... poo...

Well, at least I had save near the end of the game where I could fetch it from the ending credits.

This has to be my favourite game on the system. I remember the first time I ever played it. My best friend was like "ever played Star Tropics?" and I was like "what the hell's that?" popped it in and stayed up till like six in the morning cracked out on coffee and doritos...

I personally liked Startropics 1 better than 2. The sequel's story wasn't as good and the music wasn't half as good as this one's either.

@daracenak I disagree with that. While the original game was superior, the sequel wasn't horrible. I enjoyed both games a lot. I think it would have been a mistake to make ST2 a rehash of the original game.  You'd get complaints of lack of originality or creativity from the developers. I think they did well with both games, but that's my opinion.

this game was so amazing and challenging i remember they had some clue printed into the instruction manual for the console and I was like ahhh I had to break down and ask my dad to help me figure it out..great times

This game is ice-cold as it comes to completing: death traps, fake exits, sinking platforms (hate those).

However, I kept coming back, even after all those deaths. And then you realize that this game is awesome and something special.
