He is so right about the downloading.Nothing has changed only internet is just a new way of getting the shit we used to manged to do back in 80's.I mean kids used to copy the whole charts off the radio and like he said from record to tapes.Vids ect..And its true,people do tend to buy the band of there passion and just download the rest.I mean your not gonna make the same mistake like you used to by buying a CD not knowing if there is only 1 track you like for 15 qid are you?

Rarely do the truely amazing bands get the recognisition they deserve. The bands that never fail to disappoint don't sell enough. Then it works the other way and bands deserving of less get the money. Metallica for instance...They have good songs, I don't hate them, but what I don't like is that they can and sometimes have made albums that are complete crap and they still sold...

I don't really agree with him about downloading though - I think he is making an inaccurate generalisation, that they 'can't afford it'. Actually many just don't care and are too stingy to actually pay for any album, let alone '300 a month'.

I agree with the intellectual property argument - yes, unless you are an independent band, the greedy record label gets most of the money anyway, but the bottom line is this: the bands pay and work hard in the making of an album, so the fans should make the effort to actually pay for it. To do so otherwise is a complete lack of respect. If you can;t afford it yet you just have to wait until you can. There are many albums that I want to get, but I am patient, and too sensible with my money

Well said Jeff - about our music scene and about metallica. I think his opinion is justified - Metallica have almost always been mediocre at best. And Justice For All is the only album of theirs I bother to listen to now. They never were one of the best thrash bands, and Hetfield certainly is not one of the best singers.

What about Jeff Walker and the Die Fluffers and BlackStar? Those two bands were hardcore fail! I mean "I can't help it (if i'm still in love with you)" Jeff made some mistakes along the way, and so did Metallica (to some peoples point of view, not mine though.) Carcass é "só" uma das maiores e mais respeitadas bandas do Death Metal. Fez história e nunca modernizou o som pra com fins lucrativos, como a merda do Metallica fez. Metallica tem que comer muita carne de porco pra chegar no chulé do Carcass.

That doesn't mean absolutely nothing. Just because a band becomes the biggest band in the world doesn't mean it's the best thing around. Just look at what's popular right now, or what was popular and dominated MTV 10 or 11 years ago. You should evaluate more musical quality instead of popularity.
