@rocklee6798 yes. this is the OLD game cube AR. the new one has free loader and free loading is hidden on other AR's such as PS1. ON PS1/PS2 just select a game without staring with codes and put in a import. (same as game shark (for some but dont use GS) )

No you don't have to have a special memory card just the freeloader disc or the Action replay that comes with the special memory card you were talking about.

I am sorry to tell you but sony is the number one people to region lock shit until PS3. Because they had alot of anime games for Japan on the PS2 and didn't want people like you and me playing them they decide to region lock all the dating sims and naruto games only availble in Japan. So their was no way to play it I suggest you get a white slimline PS2 from Japan if possible. Sorry about all that I know you wan't to play but after awhile you get sick of region locking.

You can buy a freeloader disc which doesnt have the codes like a AR.  The freeloader disc is what alot of people use instead :D

You can almost buy it in any videogame section. I think I bought mine at Target but it was a while ago. Try EB games, Best Buy, etc. Or online if they don't have it. Btw, the card and disc are sold together ^_^
