  • In my personal opinion, to say that ur hair is easier to manage straightend is conditioning at its finest. Many of us as african american women are taught that our hair is easier to manage straightend. What if we were taught how to manage our hair in its natural state? It might then be harder to manage if it were oneday ever straightend. I challenge every african american woman to look up "400 years without a comb", watch the whole doc... then see how u feel.

  • wow sherri really needs to stop wearing skirts..who the fuck told her she has good looking legs, she needs to wear pants like a man she god a butt ugly face with the body to match haha

  • No one teaches black children a sense of pride in their hair. We are just told its easier to manage rather than teaching us how to care for our hair without harsh chemicals. I don't relax my hair period. It hurts and takes my hair out. Everyone uses flat irons and so do I. You don't have to burn your scalp to manage your hair. Find different styles. Black hair is a creative minefield...stop being lazy. I love my curls and put them in different styles..straight is just a style not an excuse.

  • sell it to fed ex to pack boxes. hahahahahaa

  • It's a white world and you'll need white hair to be successful. end of story.

you don't need to be racist or politically incorrect to draw that conclusion, it's just the larger fashion of this era.

  • watching this shows me that it must be bad to be black

  • It annoys me that Barbra doesn't know anything about black hair and she wants to put something in black people's head. I have tough Nigerian hair i don't mind wearing lace fronts and it is easy as pie to deal with. Relaxers are bad if you do it monthly. Stretch the time period out ladies.I see nothing wrong with relaxers like i said i have that tough hair that if i went natural i would break my comb literally. do whatever you can do manage your hair.

  • There is a difference between being a clown and a comedian.

  • how is it easier when if u don't take care of it..it breaks right off?..."black girls can't have long hair" well if you throw 87875 chemicals in your hair then no it won't be healthy, and long.

  • there are black women that are uncomfortable wearing their natural hair THE END. I hvae natural hair and here things like "you're so bold." Why is it bold of me to wear what naturally grows out of MY head? We did grow up looking at magazines with pictures of white women and WANTING to look more like them. NOT TO MENTION THAT MOST BLACK WOMEN DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR THEIR NATURAL HAIR ANYWAY..so they get a relaxer to "make it easier" how is it easier when it REQUIRES so much work

  • why do white people think blacks want to be like them ?

  • This is embarrrasing! Chris Rock should be ashamed of himself. This is nothing but blaxploitation. I think white women should exposed for their excessive tanning,

butt implants, lip injections, breast implants etc. Let's at least be fair.

  • @josbo51715 Not just white women get butt implants, black women get butt implants too. In fact, black women get lip injections too. Tanning does not make you black also. If it does, damn, you've got cancer. It's not like that at all. Everybody wants to look better and feel better and most people feel more beautiful with straighter hair, tanned skin, and full lips.

  • Two white women and a man discussing the plight of black women and their hair..hmmmm

  • I think that it is more in the middle than one or the other. Barbara has a point about the black/white issue. Some blacks consciously and unconsciously perm their hair because they love the so called white girl flow"(something I heard about on Tyra Banks from an actual black woman). Some girls do it because they dont know how to manage their hair any other way or they do not want to learn or they know and dont wanna do it. its in the middle!!!

  • shoot i perm my hair so that i can get a comb through it because my hair is so thick. I have broken so many combs on my head but right now im keeping it in micro braids even though my hair is to my shoulders.

  • @1simaddict1 if you comb your hair when its very moist you wouldn't break combs. Black hair is easy to manage..

  • First of all don't ask a black man or Woopi to be the expert on all black hair. we have different grades just like white people. There IS a RELAXER for whites! Not all black women have unmanageable hair that requires a relaxer! And many island women, very dark skinned have natral hair straighter than white women. What!

  • White people copy blacks all the time wheather it's our music, getting tan, injecting there lips to be fuller like ours and ect... does that mean they want to be black??? i relax my hair and i aint never wanted to be anything except myself and i'm black i just hate dealing with my hair and it's more manageable straightened PERIOD nothing more nothing less people always wanna turn everything into race geez!!!

  • see that would have been a great statement had you not put the geez part at the end it makes it seems like your lying. Look I'm white but does that mean i wanna act black? no im myself and i like it that way. i look to play football. Wide Reciever really most black guys play it. Does it mean im trying to be like them? no im just being my self dont be so prejiduce to race were all the same we just look different

  • THANK YOUUUU!! much appreciated! i was looking at whoopi's face and i was thinking what her expression was displaying at 2:07..lol i was about to get upset, too! i'm like, what's up with barbara trying to 'make' it a 'race' issue..?? that didnt rub me too well. thank u for saying wat many of us are thinking

  • Not every person that straightens their hair wants to be white i only wanted to straighten my hair to find out the difference between it and kinky hair and i remember wishing i could have my natural hair back the next day and that's the reason why i haven't straightened my hair since in over ten years.

  • How is God's name have people related race to hair! Is this what our country's has come to? White people have most of the stuff? White people are no longer the majority! Our President is half-black. America is a melting pot with different hair styles for all not two races and two different types of hair. Remember Chris Rock is a comedian trying to sell a movie!

  • Thank you somebody with brains. All races have hair issues and all blacks people dont have the same kind of hair and who gives a damn perm, wig, weave, whatever, some people like curly and some people like straight hair.

  • Babara is right. Yes Babara you are right! If black people were the majority and afros were on every cover of every magazine and the majority of people on tv wore twists, we wouldn't be straightening our hair!

  • Barbara is getting to the point , it is because black women grew up in a white persons world....

The women in the grey dress shes either thinking about whats is wrong with her hair style or shes totally lost, but really look at her eyes as they talk....

Chris is revealing this in a comedic way.... we talk about this in the hood atleast us conscious cats do but the females just ignore whats being said.....

  • Yeah i saw Whoopi getting annoyed .

  • omg barbara is tryin to make everything black/white

  • Yeah, Whoopi was getting annoyed

  • really cool i enjoy watching his movies
