How many politicians can do that ? I also sometimes disagree with his opinions like on recent "blasphemy" law, but there is little doubt on his integrity.

He's not confused. He was with Musharraf intitially, because Musharraf had the right goals after the coup. But then again, like any other leader in a country where there's no real law, he became all corrupted so he left Musharraf.

@need4peace I am not judging the man based on this speech alone although this speech further reinforces the moot point. I base my judgement on his track record right from his days as cricketer, captain, his hospital, formation of his party, him declining the PM post offered by Musharraf , him accepting his mistake for supporting Musharraf. How many politicians can do that ? I also sometimes disagree with his opinions like on recent "blasphemy" law, but there is little doubt on his integrity.

@ravishingravi politics of pakistan is different from the politics of india. Pakistan never had a genuine democracy and was always ruled by some military dictator. So for politicians to be really successful in Pakistan they need to go the extra mile to convince ppl that they can govern them better than the dictators and hence they make tall claims to really be ahead of the race!! Remember benazir always used to talk like this and when she was in power she supported militancy in kashmir!!

Yes, they do make tall claims but this guy walks the talk. He has galvanized the youth in Pakistan. And please do not compare Benazir to him. It really is chalk and cheese. Yes, one can question his competence and experience when it comes to governance.

He is humble enough to admit his mistakes and does not need to prove to his village or braderi anything so he is honest. Pakistan will always be there-so it is not dependent on any one man. He's not confused. He was with Musharraf intitially, because Musharraf had the right goals after the coup. But then again, like any other leader in a country where there's no real law, he became all corrupted so he left Musharraf.
And he'd been supporting PMLN because this party was the least corrupt. And to be honest, they did some real good things in Punjab, so he probably trusted them.
