  • Can you make some schematics of this to replicate it?

  • @omolivera

I sell the plans on Ebay if you are interested. If you search "waste oil burner plans" on Ebay, I offer them there. If you don't have an Ebay account, email me and we can work something out.

    Thanks

  • hahaha ill admit thats pretty cool. I actually sell, deal, and repair all waste oil units for clean burn up in canada. Might think about purchasing one that way you dont need to go through all this trouble

  • is it safe to breathe thease fumes?

  • @trex65ghia is it safe to breath exhaust from a car? is it safe to breath anything that results from combustion?

  • @dietpepsimax1 hey asshole . It was rhetorical dipshit.

  • what kind of chimney do you have with this oil heater i have 14' side wall on my shop and stove pipe is just getting more and more expensive

  • @jsjom

I have the black stove pipe. You are right...the pipe is expensive. I keep my eyes open for scape pipe. I found some 8" drain pipe that I use now. This a nice heavy wall pipe.

    Thanks

  • Very good job! :)

  • Nice with some more air pollution.

  • i applaud you sir, took waste oil and made into something alot of people need, heat

  • @team3d180 hahaha there are actual units that companies sell that do this, i work for one of them. clean burn.

  • 1.5-4 liters per hour (give or take a little).

    Thanks

  • how many liters per hour?

  • Check your mail!

  • I have seen your product on ebay. I have some questions. What is this particular products effective volume of heating? I want to use it for my greenhouse. For info: nozzle is the thing which makes high oil pressure, therefore making oil burn, am I right? Is this nozzle expensive?

  • I do not know what kind of BTU the heater puts out. I waste more of the heat with my setup because of my short chimney. If I wanted more heat from the heater, I could add a magic heater unit, or many other things to reclaim more heat. I have not done that because it heats the 20x30 barn up to 70+ degrees as is. My friend heats his 30x40 uninsulated barn without any trouble also. I can give you more info if you send me your email address. I am out of characters here. ddchopper3@yahoo.com

  • this could easily be powering a generator and getting the second double use out of the heat. think turbine-like to get shaft hp. just a thought from the airframe & powerplant technician side of me. lol

  • How did you design the nozzle that does not require a catch can for the oil such as a normal babington design?

  • How did you design the nozzle that does not require a catch can for the oil such as a normal babington design?

  • @spanky43148

The nozzle is the key to making the thing run clean and smooth. I don't give that out freely due to the research and development that I invested to make it work.

  • @spanky43148

I am selling the plans on ebay if you want them. search for "waste oil heater plans".

    Thanks

  • @ddchopper Believe me this thing works. I have one and will soon be tying it into my basement from outside . I have no doubt it will heat me 2000 sg ft house. I'll enclose my barrel using barn tin and metal studs and pipe heat into the basement .

  • @spanky43148

DDDchopper is correct about the nozzle design.

I Have a single barrel ) stove . Built my burn tube. Which after running for over 24 hours is still clean with no build up in the burn area. However after talking with DD I just ask if he could build me a burner assembly. 3/4 gallon per hour of soybean oil. Next is a barn metal and metal studs to enclose the stove and pipe heat in from outside into basement ,

  • How well does this heat your barn? I was thinking about using the same idea, with a small 30# propane tank instead of a barrel, though it depends on what i can get my hands on

  • @FoxWhite50

I used a lawn roller for my first heater. It makes more heat for my 20' x 30' barn than I need. I have to turn it off after an hour or two of running it.

Size maters. Too small of a chamber makes it run bad. It's hard to keep it running right also. I would still be tempted to try it. If it does not work, put your heater assembly in a different chamber.

    Good luck

  • is the 110v oil heater home made or an off the shelf unit?

  • @cavakilla

I took and aluminum block and machined it for a 300w heater cartridge from Granger. I also purchased a 210 degree snap switch and mounted that the to aluminum to keep the oil in the preheat chamber at 200'ish degrees. Once the heater is up and running the heat from the barrel keeps the oil preheater hot enough that the unit uses very little electricity.

    Hope this helps.

  • Fantastic! I want to build one as well I currently heat my home with waste vegetable oil. I have a video of that on my page, but I want to build one of these for my garage how about a how to demonstration?

  • neat (:

  • Nice simple design. I might give it a shot and make one to post on here. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
