First and only time I saw Ray Price was in 1953. I was about 13 and Ray was appearing at our football stadium. Also on the show was George Morga, Minnie Pearl, Red Garrett and a few others. Before his set Ray was underneath the bleachers, fly casting. Ray is an avid fisherman. I recall him joking that he had just swallowed the biggest bug I thought that was funny.. I was impressed with his laid back personality.
I HOPE I CAN SEE THIS WONDERFUL LEGEND IN MT. PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) - The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that it will host country music legend Ray Price in concert at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, April 2.,. 2011
Touch My Heart was a favorite of mine and the last traditional Price recording before Danny Boy if I remember correctly. Great , but relatively little known song among so many terrific Ray Price songs..
Excellent! The masters voice and the master's strings. Sounds like Buddy's steel could sustain forever. Thank you so very much for posting, MrPete222.
My father actually wrote "Touch my heart" and sent it in anonymously , he was too embarrassed to put his name on it, he and my mom had just divorced and he was
having a hard time with it. He is now 78, and I bought him the CD last year, he had
never heard it, but knew that Ray Price had recorded it and I think Johnny Paycheck took the credit for writing it. If you note, it says "words" by JP, not "written by.."
while I was still in the air force i was home on leave and my father took me to see ray price....he was 80 years old at the time and he sounded so flawless ! by far on of my top concerts I ever went to ! him and BB King are my top 2 i've seen live...while they are still alive....FLAWLESS RAY !

@mrpete222 I too had the honor of seeing Ray a year or two ago at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pa. - what a show he put on...never be another Ray Price! Country music (if you can call it that) today is a joke...steel guitar has been replaced by drums? BTW - Hiram says hello brother.

Ray Price is the greatest . His music will never be matched by anybody. He makes you proud to be a Texan. I always said we were neighbors we only lived 50 miles apart and thats a short distance in Texas.
What a beautiful song sung by one of the greatest....so wonderful to listen to music you can understand the words....and with back ground that doesn't drown out the singer....
This was when country music had feeling and meaning and was presented by artists who wasn't in it for the check. Look at Ray's attire! I saw Chesney on stage in torn fadded rags. Where is the self respect and pride?
What a great song sung by the Master himself. The arrangement is as good as it gets. Define Country Music; this is it with Ray Price & his Cherokee Cowboys performing Touch My Heart.
Ray always sounds fantastic. His voice is wonderful. He's still got it at age 83 (I believe that's it) and hopefully he's come through his recent health problems. He always looks so classy in his shows. His special sound and style are hard to beat. Thank you for posting this winner. - Paula

This is one of the all time great songs, done by one of the all time great country artist. No one can do a song like Ray Price can. I love his music. Please keep his songs coming!
You're absolutely right, Kramusic. In fact, I think Ray is probably the most underrated American singer. Technically, he's on a par with Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Sinatra in his heyday, etc. Man -- listen to that amazing baritone hitting the high notes.! It's a crime he has only two Grammy awards to his name. Shame on the music industry!
Beautiful song written by Johnny Paycheck!!!
