Yes. The sooner the better. My pop-top used 72 only cost a couple of thousand though. I can see new concept this being way expensive....My 65 vanagon I built a camper into and toured all over Mexico. The expanding roof/room extensions are extremely nice. Get on it!!

VW, or the aftermarket industry, could offer this with a variety of external design 'skins' ranging from ultra retro T2 look right through to ultra modern renewable timbers, bamboo and hessian internal materials. This would increase their audience and leave no two new vans looking the same. It looks like a fantastic basis for a range convey similar to what BMW have done with the Mini but with thousands more combinations. Martin

Even if this became reality, I wouldn't take a single glance at it for one reason: VW wouldn't dare sell here even though I would eagerly pay to have one. One example: one camper van they make that I really want is called the California. Why would they name it that if you can't even get it in the US or Canada? But then, I suspect it's mostly our own fault since more than half of all Americans are overweight so they wouldn't fit anyway.

@danyofdeath No, the fabric on the sides are cloth. It's like a tent, it folds in and becomes flat. I know because I actually own a VW California, and my roof rises and has a double bed just like this one.
