Jim had Pattons microphone turned off because this is the way Jim wanted the sound to go down in the studio...They said it was "too heavy guitar sounding" so Jim's last show did his way...
This has been on my bookmarks for so long now, just watched it again for near the 100th time and i still feel sorry for whichever of the sound guys that got knocked the fuck out for not sortin out pattons mic at the end... honestly watch it again, patton is gone straight away right stage, awesome dance though... just as good today too, if i ever get too drunk to get a hard on i watch faith no more.... then wonder why my misses is in bed and masterbate... to patton... ohh never mind!
o cool always wonderd whre this was sung at had this on mp3 for years found it on limewire evertime my friends here tis song they singin the silly silly part alway this was epic and still is
Awesome track, amazing vocals, fucking brilliant dance when the mic blew... i cant wait to see these guys (yeah i know, changes to members) at the download festival in july!
Haha! It would, wouldn't it!? God damn you people going to Download! Making me all jealous with my Leaving Cert on! They're playing Brixton again on the 10th aren't they? Can't go to that either!
I feel for you buddy, i missed rage against the machine when they played Reading last year and nearly cried... Made sure not to make that mistake with FNM!
Yeah, I saw RATM at Oxegen last year, to be fair Pendulum were better, but unlucky with that anyway mate! I'm just seriously hoping they have a gig in Ireland, that would make my year, but I reckon I'm just asking for too much! Well, enjoy Download anyway mate!
its funny, ive been listening to the phoenix festival bootleg for years. of course, this song always stood out. its nice to finally see what the hell was going on! i still get chills when the band stops playing and all those people sing along- really powerful.
if you listen really closely , you can here me singing, it is by far the best gig i was ever at. and i love his little dance at the end . that i didnt see .
I think Jim must have had some input on this song... The chords in the chorus flow better, instead of sounding a little stilted(did anyone else notice that? I'm suprised no-one picked it up).Could be because I'm a guitarist :)
The solo at the end was sweet; it makes the song rock harder.
its sad how it all ended with Jim but they had no choice, they hadto cut him loose if they wanted to keep making new records....The only song Jim full composed on AngelDust was "Jizzlobber" he also did alittle of "Kindergarden"....The rest of the songs was like pulling teeth, he'd play something then theyd make him play something different. Billy Gould played guitar on "Midnight Cowboy"
I was a 17 years old and high as a kite at this gig - the best gig I've ever been to

I've never been the "they were better with Martin" kind of fan, but I've got to admit that I'm really impressed with JM's performance of this song.

@barman57 Well, he did write the part, so would you really expect him to suck at playing it?
c0d3h4x0r 11 months ago
@c0d3h4x0r Actually, the way he played it in the video is very different than the album version.

BTW, how is it that the sound quality is so good on such shitty video?
The sound engineer is clearly a GOD.
aBornBird 2 years ago 15
The sound would've been recorded through the sound desk then remixed with the video later.
StevieC69 2 years ago
@aBornBird A fan/archivist put the FM broadcast on the Video from a bootleg. :)
Some DVDs of this have the switchable audio between this and the original cam's mic......quite a difference.... :)
