@PCandrewadc You can go from twin to single. The pro/con of a single is more boost/power at the cost of lag. Twin gives you a smoother powerband and significantly reduces "turbo lag" as the turbos are set up to give boost at a lower overall rev.

Difference is GTE has supra internals and turbo. GE is just bare inline 6 with lower quality internals then the supra. I test drove an automatic IS300 N said no to it. Then found and bought a stick shift IS300 and they're much faster. You can really feel the full potential of the inline 6 I've actually pulled from 350z's... If you do find a stick shift chances it's been beating up and wont drive like it should.

@Jonoc123 The 2JZ-GE is actually a better choice for applications under 350hp. It can take make 350rwhp with no engine mods. If you want more than 10psi you can simply change to a 3mm head gasket and you're good for around 400rwhp.

The Turbo GE block retains it's N/A charachteristics such as faster throttle response and better low end torque than the GTE block. Not to mention better fuel economy due to the increased combustion efficiency from the high compression pistons.

actually, thats a 2gz-ge with the valve covers off of the gte. The blue radiator hose going into the head on top is the give away. If it was a gte head it would look different. :)

The blocks are the EXACTLY the same except that the GTE engine has oil squirters to cool the pistons, and has forged pistons, otherwise identical

Most of the 2JZ GE's had the same internals (except high CR pistons), only a few were produced, with weaker internals, as for the block, the 2JZ GE is only lacking oil squirters, otherwise pretty much the same design wise. Still a very good engine if you want to make lots of power.
