You must be pretty stupid pleaple in USA, becouse here in Europe, YOU CAN JUST CHOOSE if you want a standard 3G call or 3G video-conference call, and the price for call is the same. Its only a options that you have to choose.

The corporations don't like you to do that. Even if you buy an unlocked phone, carrier specific services would be off limits. The absolutely worst one is Verizon Wireless, which cripples it's phones to literally profit off of every single aspect of the service ($3 for ring tones for instance, $5 for email, $15 for TV service...) the iPhone was supposed to go to Verizon but Verizon didn't want Apple to control, what would have been, Verizon's iPhone! I'll bet they wanted to cripple it.

I heared that the US(I guess you are from the US) has a pretty bad 3G network, thats propably the reason why you dont have phones with video conference capipility.

I also need to say that people in europe dont use this feature very often(I think because of the high cost)
