in shortcircuit, i can only play the first channel for some reason. how do i switch to the second and other channels. like i would press a key but only the first channel will play. i cant get the other ones to play
which host software or sequencer software do you use? Have you also changed the midi channel to channel 2 in your host software, like shown in the video?
indeed it's very complicated that's also why I prefer cubase. First change the port to port 1 in the shortcircuit window (upper right corner). Then you must add the "midi-out" plugin. In the "midi-out" window also change to port 1 and chose your midi channel. Now you can add as much "midi-out" plugins you wanrt with different midi channels but the port of all "midi-out" plugins have to be set to the same port you have set in your shortcircuit window (so port 1 in this case).
sounding nice but the problem its not correct to use two tracks of bass because the sound will become flangy , nd 2 second thing why you dont use shortcuts , its more confortable :> good luck man
THX. Why? I think it depends on the sound of the kicks. In Hip Hop or modern Pop it's a common technique to use layered kick drums (but mostly it is one ready sample then) Furthermore the bass and the kick would also flange then according to your theory. That's why you reduce or add several frequencies in the mix then, for example.
Normally I use lots of shortcuts but for a video it would not be comfortable to follow, I guess. Cause parameters would change then as if by magic.
thx, I'm just using the standard settings of cubase's quantize function (no swing). But I never quantize accurately but approximately. Sometimes I have to change some events manually. Or I record the part again and again until I'm satisfied. Maybe try to play around with the raster/grid. When I record for example 8th I set it to 16th or even 32th
I also have a midi keyboard the M-Audio Axiom 25 USB MIDI controller but it's a smal midi keyboard and if i want make a beat with my keyboard than my keyboard has not enough notes to get to de samples so is my keyboard to small?
Yes, definitely. I would say 49 or better 61 keys is the least amount to work with, with less keys it's hard to play both handed (e.g. piano, strings) and use the whole tone spectrum. For just making beats or simple basses I would say 25 keys is enough. I barely use more than 6 Drums simultaneously. So just map your whole VST sampler with as many drums you want and switch the octaves (up or down) on your keyboard before the next recording sequence.
i inboxed u man,,,pleeease help me out lol!!!

Are you sure you mean the "supportive kick" on channel two and not channel one?
Tino069 2 years ago
Thx, there was a mistake. Use midi channel one for the supportive kick.
