That was awesome! Both of them did a wonderfully hilarious job with singing. The puppetry was fawless (I'm training to be puppeteer, so this was good reference). My one problems is you didn't to the "DOES THIS LOOK INANIMATE TO YOU, PUNK?!" line. That's like the best part!
@AlisonWonderland1951 : Thanks for the good feedback! I love the dialogue between Audrey II and Seymour; but, the audio recording of the music we had didn't have that on it. It was karaoke for the broadway play. There were speakers for CDs, but they had NO microphones, so we were having to really shout out to get our voices heard.
@AlisonWonderland1951 : Thank you for liking the video and the puppetry! I love performing. The CD we used for the music didn't allow the space for the dialogue; but, I love those lines and would have loved to have done that.
I agree, and would love to have a larger Audrey II, but there is no space in my house for it. This one was intended to just try and get the song out of my head--one of the reasons we did this sketch during a larger talent show...thing--and now makes a nice display in my apartment. But, boy! It'd be cool to have all sizes (one day, when there's room).
yeah, i make them....... its hard work of course, but i agree, its a talent contest thats ok? but, i thought it was the actual production and was gonna say!! lol,no thats kool,
omigosh! i love that puppet!! how did you or whoever make it? :D its so cool! i wish our school used puppets that size instead of like huge ones. we did the play and for stage crew (me) it was a pain in the butt moving the different audrey 2's on and off stage xD our last one has like these giant tentacles that went off stage and into the audience. it was sweet but heavy. :] oh and seymores voice? AWESOME! its like opera. i cant spell i know xD
Hi, I made the puppet from 2" foam, fake plant leaves, felt, fleece, corrugated plastic, wires, fake moss, acrylic paint. It's a bit more detailed than that, but that's the basic. I still need to do a tutorial about when I made it and how.
lol Audrey II's voice is actually better tha most I've seen on YouTube, though not perfect...and I didn't like the pointy end of the vine, at some points the plant lost its "reality" when you could see certain things in the background. And Seymour's voice, not that it was bad, but horrible for this part! I've never heard it sung like this! And it makes it sound terrible. By far the best puppeteering I've seen yet though! I wonder why? lol. If only it were that simple and easy to maneuver...
kevinmule, my friend and I are doing a scene from LSOH in my drama class, and we need a puppet, can you tell me how to build something cheap and similar to this one?
Sorry, I know I said I'd put up a tutorial about it on my forums, but I haven't had any time. I'll try to get to it soon. Some online places have one for rent or advice to make it cheap and easy.
Hi Maneatingwreath (is the name a Nightmare Before Christmas reference?). It was for a contest show during a convention, hence Boba Fett. I'm not sure why the end of the video did that sound, but Tim (Seymour) had his wife record this for us. They also didn't give us microphones so we had to shout the lyrics to the song! ACK! I really appreciate that you liked this video. :)
That was so totally awesome!!!!!!!! Great puppet, great voice, great Seymour, great filming, and a great crowd! One of my favorites. Was this part of an actual production of the show, just a sample, or something for a convention?
Thanks for the great comments, and I hope you can get footage of your performance on youtube as well! We did win, by the way--but, so did everyone who participated. The prize: entry into the next year's con! :)
Audrey II is really good... and for a talent show, the puppet is really REALLY good. Don't agree with Seymour singing opera. I also love the Karaoke Audrey with unrealistic high-pitched voice that sounds manufactured.
Yeah, at the convention here in town they have a costume contest and folks do some production stuff, but we like to do something that's just really good quality stuff so, when we don't appear, they miss us. I think they did miss us this year. My buddy Lin and I have performed as a Ghostbuster and Beetlejuice singing the Blues Brothers' "Soul Man," and called ourselves Beetlebuster Blues. Forgot what we did before that.
Thanks for the compliment. I agree, and would love to have a larger Audrey II, but there is no space in my apartment for it. i loved your guys' version of Audry 2! XD

you were good as the plant, but the guy playing seymour sounds too much like he's singing opera.

Thanks. he sounds great, though, doesn't he?

Thank you for appreciating the video. Tim is a great vocalist, and the puppeteer is pretty good, too! ;)

Doesn't the puppet look similiar to the Audrey 2 in the 1986 version.

Thanks. I kind of based the puppet on the film.
