  • $26,000/yr. 52 years ago! Yowsah! But, in the few YouTube postings I've seen of Milt, I can understand his worth. He seemed like a straight-forward sincere gentleman. It's obvious that the kids on the show thought very highly of Mr. Grant.

  • He made $26K 52 years ago! This guy was loaded! Athletes didn't even make that much.

  • At 1:12, Milt mentions an old Washington, DC newspaper called the Evening Star, which "owns a competing station in the Washington market." Back then, the Star owned Channel 7 [then WMAL-TV] and WMAL Radio.

  • bill johnson is my great uncle! thanks for posting this!

  • I was greatly saddened to learn of Billy Johnson's passing on Christmas Day last year. I had last exchanged email messages with him after his heart surgery, and he indicated that his health wasn't so good. I'd love to hear any stories that you might have about good times you spent with your great uncle and aunt. He was a gifted and generous individual who is greatly missed in our world.

My Yahoo email address is KaptainKidshow

  • I watched Milt Grant for years after school. Wow, in this video he looks so young. When I watched him, long ago as a high school student, I thought he was so old. Thanks for posting.

  • Dear WeHeartDoreen,

    Did Mr.Milt Grant pass away?

  • Milt Grant, 83, died 4/28/07 at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He Reportedly had cancer and Alzheimers Disease. He was apparently married twice; leaving behind 3 children, a sister, and 4 grandchildren. For someone in communications, he was a secretive person who revealed little of his personal life during his few interviews. A woman who answered the phone at his privately held firm in Florida, the Grant Group, would not confirm the nature of Mr. Grant's business, his age or even his death.

  • Twenty-six grand a year in salary was real good money in 1957 when a nice home could be purchased for $15,000! Milt Grant, R.I.P.
