But I can't see much parallels between this and Michael Jackson's/Rockwell's track nor with Mysto & Pizzi's: the chords are different, the melody is different, the rhythm is different and also the instrumentation is different. what do you mean by "set"? If you mean the rhythm, it really doesn't matter. It's just an example. Just make a rythm that supports your beat. Open Hihat = long played synth closed HiHat = short played synth. You can alos use any other instrument with high attacks instead of Hihats

Just watch the video carefully again. At best in HD quality cause then you see more details. Maybe you forgot to assign your signals to the different FX channels? Then you just have to add the peak controller FX to the HiHats and set "link to controller" at the Synth track.

Yes, you can also use vanguard and a few other VST Synths with build in rhythmical gates. But I guess you don't want to use one and the same Synth in all of your productions?!? Or spend so much money only for this function.

With this tutorial you can use every VST instrument. Although I have to admit that build in gates are much better (more precise and crisp) sometimes. But for crispness you can also use normal gate plugins with a side chain function!

problem solved! it only works with 6-point hermite sampler interpolation

can you show me how to base the melody for the pad. i'm not sure if i'm even using the right terms but basically how you got to your starting point with the pad.

in this case the pad is very simple. Use 3xOsc. Usually you should use as many sawtooth oscillators you can activate (in this case all 3). Slightly detuned (finetune) and spread stereo (1 left, 1 center and 1 right). Maybe there will be also a little synth workshop soon?!? If you all want some??? Just tell!
