I HAD FIVE GUNS STOLEN IN 2004 AT XMAS, THEY WHERE REGISTERED, AND I TOLD POLICE WHO PROBELEY DID IT, THEY LEFT DNA, (BLOOD) 2 OF THE 3 HAVE BEEN IN JAIL SCINCE THIS (CARMA ) THE LGR DID NOTHING TO GET THEM BACK, THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE, LGR DOES NOT WORK, CAN'T WAIT TO TAKE MY PAPER WORK TO THE RANGE
Gun control only restricts those who obey the law, meaning law-abiding citizens. Criminals couldn't care less what gun laws are, or what guns have to be what length, or what firearms need to be registered. That's just common sense, unfortunately common sense isn't common. That's why you get these liberals who see guns, don't understand them, and thus are afraid of them. "TAKE AWAY MY NEIGHBOUR'S GUNS SO I FEEL SAFE!" Such ignorance is just sad.
1) Aren't police meant to treat every situation as a potentially dangerous one?
2) The current legislation only places further regulation on licensed, law-abiding firearms owners when the vast amount of gun crime is committed by unlicensed people using illegal or unregistered guns.
3) The whole long gun registry seems to be born out of an urban fear and misconception about the shooting sports/industry and firearms ownership - then applied to the entire country...
Think about this. the people that are getting licences and so on are not the ones shooting at other people. The illegal firearms coming into Canada, and stolen firearms are the ones that do the harm to society. Also how does a registered vehicle protect people? An unregistered vehicle will run someone over just the same as a registered one
he needs to be fired, she needs to shut the fuck up,,,,,biggest force WTF?,,,,and he didnt recognize the correction,,,,,,what a dick, why do they not want us to have guns?, shut up bitch, you are so off point , this guy is a nazi cunt-----im commenting as the vid plays,
The point of that story was, once the police arrived at the window of the truck and ran the two men's indetity check, they must of realized the one man was an honest man. so my question is, why would they not evenb let the honest man through his cigerette away before it bunrt his fingers. Even if they did check to see if he owned a gun, they still treated him like a criminal. The rigistry and licenseing isn't a total waste of time, but the right to defend yourself is a sham.
There was a situation in ontario where a guy was going to work in the morning with his neighbor to drywall a basement. As he crossed the street from his house to get in his neighbor's truck to leave for work. They then started backing out of the parking space when a polioce unmarked van pulled up behind them, a unmarked video van behind them. A unmarked police cruiser to the right side, and a unmarked police pick-up in front, all of them with there guns pulled and pointed at the two men.
I love it when womens groups get involved in this debate. Most domestic violence doesn't involve firearms. Even when a man kills his spouse, 38% of the time, he kills her with his bare hands. Only 28% are shot to death. (According to statscan) She really has nothing of value to add to the debate.
These guys should have brought up the fact that the gun registry allows police to violate gun owners rights, as guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms sections 7 through 11.
my uncle was a cop in saskatchewan and he says that the registry is the dumbest thing the liberal party even came up with. He says that if he relied on the registry saying there are guns at one house and not another he would be fucking shot by now and he says only the dumb new cops rely on the gun registry.
and also, a gun is a gun and is as effective at killing someone as any other one. The long gun registry AND the handgun registry should be abolished. And the licensing system should be rendered a lot less strict.
@dustintml I agree that the long gun registry has got to go but I think the hand gun registry should stay. And I think the course (pal) should stay right where it is I took It almost a year ago and it was easy as hell to pass all you need is 80 percent I got 100 percent and 98 percent on the second test.
@viper10011 It the long gun registry should be abolished.....then logically it follows that the handgun registry also be abolished for the very same reasons. Actually for MORE reasons. The registry of handguns can be traced to 1934 and has acomplshed what exactly? NOTHING. On the other hand it does present a hole for money that COULD be used to actually achieve something.
The current PAL course is pretty much a joke and should be revamped to include....oh SHOOTING A GUN for one thing!
The police do check the registry frequently and it does tell them who is a gun owner and how many guns they have. The point is, they shoudn't be allowed to do this. The benefits of making it easier for citizens to aquire guns and use them for defending themselves and their property outway the benefits the registry gives to police. Its funny because the propenents of gun control in Canada have really terrible arguments for their positions; what is even more incredible, however ...
By Chief Blairs own admittance, 70% of the gun crime in his area is from illegally imported handguns.... another figure from BC was 90%. Wouldnt it make more sense to have spent or start spending those registry dollars on improved border security which would target not only the largest percentages of gun crime but also target drugs, human smuggling, terrorists and all other forms of contraband? A solution that would appease ALL Canadians instead of infuriating a large percentage! Hes not bia$ed!
These victims rights groups, YWCA, Police Associations, etc.. are targeting and pissing off alot of the WRONG people! Remember this the next time they come knocking on your door or calling your house for a donation!!! What they are asking for would be the equivalent of MADD Canada asking for breathalizers to be installed in ALL cars in Canada to prevent drinking and driving. Ridiculous!!!!!
@JameR242 The crazy liberal chicks work with Blair to promote his precious Registry. He's happy to have them. When he's not having his cops participate in arresting and detaining people without a charge. Ask him about the lawsuit against the TPS over the G20 arrests in Toronto. See how happy he is about that. ;)
@justice1981denied I don't think that would work, since a registry is meant to register the owners of a product. You can't pre-register something...... Also holding the manufacturer responsible would be like holding Ford responsible for drunk driving. Nobody makes cars or guns to be misused by criminals or get put on the street like you say.
Yeah, Let's charge the makers of paper when people get paper cuts to. Anyone ever heard of "personal resonsibility?" The cradle to grave ninnystateness of some people makes me wonder how pussified Canadian society has become and reveals how fast western civilization is spinning down the toilet bowl. You screw up or misuse something? IT'S YOUR FAULT AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES...

Or we could just charge the people who do bad things!
Otherwise you would also advocate Ford or GM paying when someone steals a car!
