  • I'd be interested in attending one of these Winter foraging classes, or even a summer foraging class. How can I apply?

  • @HHacker1959 Just go to primitiveskills "dot" com to check out the course calendar and you can register on line, or call (207) 623-7298. They can reserve a spot for you. Thanks for your interest.

  • @HHacker1959 You won't be sorry. I've been to Tracker and these folks are genuinely concerned for your skill development AND have the skills. You won't sit on your butt listening to lectures for hours, you actually go out and do it. The attention you get and the hands on activities make it all worth while.

  • The link to the school in the video description leads to a domain for sale page.

  • Also the type of plants that grow in Maine may not grow say like in AZ and the type of plants that grow in AZ may not grow up in Maine.

  • @mogges1 True. Keep in mind though, while deadly plants do exist, they represent les than 3% of the overall fauna. Our culture has become plant-phobic out of ignorance. There's no such thing as a true poisonous look alike. If so, botany wouldn't be a science. Ea. species is categorized by leaf type, arrangement, bud scars, floral formulas, etc. In fact, tens of thousands of folks die ea. yr. from known side effects of prescribed medications, less than 100 from ingesting wild plants.

  • I feel that learning the wild edibles would be the hardest part of survival, because there are so many different types of plants and for every edible plant there are as many poisonous ones. are look a likes Plants.

  • I think that is awesome testing them by making finding them in the woods. I might have to plan a trip up there this summer.

  • Nice t shirt shot!
