I just got this DVD today, have not watched it yet. I'm a huge George A. Romero fan. I have his Night of the Living Dead on DVD and I give it big respect because its the film that started zombie movies Came out in the 1960's so crazy reactions from people at the time, but tame by todays standards. I also have Dawn of the Dead from the 70's and it holds up much better. Day of the Dead from the 80's was great. I aslo have Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead, good new movies. Now Survival NICE

This movie has to be the worst one that Romero has made. The plot was contrived and hokey and some of the effects were plain bad. ie. the fire extinguisher or flare gun kills.  With campy comedy and some sub par acting just ruins a potential winner. Sorry, GAR, ya can't hit a homer every time.

But it's simple economics. When you flood the market with low budget zombie movies like he is doing, not only do people get tired of seeing them, but audiences also start to associate zombie movies with low budgets. He needs to stop so better quality zombie movies have a chance to be made.

Couldn't agree with you more, guyverrob! The reason why Romero doesn't like to make movies for the big studios is that he cannot deliver! Land was his shot and he blew it. Is it just me or is Romero just not that "visionary" anymore? I mean, don't get me wrong, Night and Dawn scared the fuck out of me, still do, and are perfect movies, but these days it seems as though he's just grabbing a camera and video taping some shit.
