@xTrettx All the more reason to use the pinky. One can either limit themselves to 3 fingers forever because one finger is more awkward than the rest, or invest a little time training the pinky and end up being capable of a whole lot more.

Mark hoppus is a great bass player thats all there is too it . He is a great songwriter very successful producer, awesome live, he can sing , he has so much to offer to the musical world and thats what makes him a great bass player, one of the best . Im sure if he was selfish enough he could focus on personal skills and blow us all away like all these no names people come up with. but he has different ways of being a great musician. Sounds good, but looks really painful. Relax your hand! You have the same deathgrip going on that I tend to slip into as well, bass is loads easier to play if you relax your hand and find a comfortable angle.

For those of you who think he isn't actually playing it, it's probably because you usually only play one note at a time on bass. That's not the case with this song, and if you look closely, you'll see his finger on the D string as well as the G. Nice playing, but your little finger is all over the place, let it hover over the fretboard. Not bad though, for a guitarist.

You did pretty well. But there's an easier way to play it, Rather than using your ring finger and stretching, use your pinky. It's more consistent, and it just looks that way. But if that's how you play it, go right ahead. I play Carousel myself with my pinky with my middle finger muting the top two strings, Because I get kinda crazy with it :D. But, Work harder. There's room for improvement, but that doesn't mean you suck.
