How many of those stories do you think were full of laughs? I feel like I'm the only one who appreciates the show from the Pilot to Farewell. By the way, Trapper didn't have his own identity and B.J. was a genuine character. Frank Burns didn't have anywhere else to go but section 8 and Winchester has some of the best scenes in the whole series. You people are just too hard to please. Those who think Mash should have all laughs and campy for the entire series, you're missing the point of the show in the first place. There are still funny parts/episodes in the later years. It's a comedy/drama hense dramedy. What? You think war is that hilarious that they would have had 11 seasons of comedy. They made it quite clear right from "Sometimes You Hear the Bullet" that they weren't doing a McHale's Navy. They used a lot of stories from actual units from a few wars. How many of those

"Winchester"....replacing "frank"....sucked balls.....B.J. replacing "Trapper".equally sucked balls......so funny the first couple of yrs......went down hill fast.......the "political"/drippy plots made me wanna puke sometimes.

OLD M.A.S.H. awesome!!!!!!.....the later yrs sucked hairy balls when they started getting all political..and all the friggin feel good drippy plots......made me sick. im almost embarrasses for them looking at some of the episodes now......painful to watch.
