  • Hail to the king, kitty.

  • hey, i bet you get a lot of "animal abuse" comments too, huh? see ya in hell, animal hater.... (like if we really wanted to f*ck with our animals we would go spend 80 dollars to do it...)

  • You're an idiot. You do not shock an animal to get them to behave. That is only making then scared to perform the action in the future which doesn't actually teach them anything.

  • @cheerfulchip197 ... ummm, yes. Yes it does. In fact, making them scared to repeat an action is the essence of teaching them something.

  • @zbellino That is like saying a father hits his children when they don't behave. The children obey because they are intimidated and are scared. Train using positive reinforcement and the bond between you and your pet will flourish much more than using the easy way out.

  • @cheerfulchip197 I think that since the scat mat is made for animals it's not all that bad...This is not punishment, but negative reinforcement. Negative Reinforcement strengthens a behavior because a negative condition is stopped or avoided as a consequence of the behavior. Punishment, on the other hand, weakens a behavior because a negative condition is introduced or experienced as a consequence of the behavior.

  • @DisobedientChild85 Positive reinforcement is, and always will be better than negative reinforcement. Negative reinforcement is training of the past along with Cesar Millan and Brad Pattison. Take a look at my channel. My dog jumps on my back, does a walking handstand, and MUCH more AND has perfect behavior both when I'm there and when I'm not. The scat mat is unnecessary and should not be sold to lazy pet owners. If you can't train your pet to behave properly, do not get one.

  • @cheerfulchip197 Yeah, I know that positive reinforcement is usually the best method...I have read the Karen Pryor clicker training for cats where whe mention the 4 different methods and what works best in different situations...I have even trained my 3 cats to use the human toilet with positive reinforcement...It is possible to train a cat not to jump on the couch, but when youre not there they will do it so that is when the scat mat or the ssscat is better...Dogs and cats are not the same...

  • @cheerfulchip197 By the way, I have used the ssscat and it is a motion detector that sprays air on the cats when they get too close, it doesn't hurt them at all...It's just annoying...If you could train my cats to not eat everything they are not supposed to with positive reinforcement let me know...I don't think it's possible...

  • @DisobedientChild85 ANY animal can be clicker trained. The automatic air system you have bought is a waste of money in my opinion. Go to the channel "NanaBorderCollie" and watch the Bengal cat "Kai" do tricks that some dogs cannot do. Plus, he is PERFECTLY behaved. Once again proving that positive reinforcement is dominant over negative reinforcement.

  • @cheerfulchip197 As I said, I know that all animals can be clicker trained, I did read the book and I have trained my cats...Read what I wrote!!! My cats know how to do tricks, I just said that cats are not dogs! And I do have a bengal cat and two birmans, bengals are alot easier to train...They are more dog like than the other breed...As I said, you can train animals to do things with positive reinforcement, but it's not that easy to train them NOT to do anything when you are not there...

  • @DisobedientChild85 Really? 'Cause it took me 2 weeks to train my puppy properly with positive reinforcement. He's almost 2 years old now and still behaves perfectly while I'm there and when I'm not. (I even videotaped to be positive and to proof anything that needed work.) If you take the time, the scat mat will never be needed.

  • @cheerfulchip197 My female cat eat on everything...She has made holes in my towels, schrunchies, bra straps and even my leather handbag...The only way I know of to make her stop is either spraying keep off spray(Negative reinforcement) or remove everything she may eat(Extinction)...If you have any ideas of how I can make her stop with positive reinforcement I would greatly appreciate it...

  • @DisobedientChild85 I'll send you a message describing how you can prevent that from happening snice it would much too long to fit into a comment.

  • @cheerfulchip197 Ok, thanks :)

  • OMG That is so funny!

  • LOL, I almost peed myself!

  • lmao that is great! i just got my scat mat today...the dogs have already encountered it. i suspect the cat is learning what it's all about as i type this...

great invention - beats the hell out of mousetraps.

  • haha poor polly

  • Poor Polly :( You guys are so mean!!! But it is super funny tho :)
