Yorkshire is split into Shires of which the West Riding is one of them. Saddleworth IS in the West Riding. The Shires have not been changed. The Natwest in Uppermill still has Yorkshire in its address and the Hare & Hounds has a banner, which proudly declares Saddleworth as part of the West Rididng.

Saddleworth is in the County of Yorkshire, although administered by Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council.
Oldham similarly is in the County of Lancashire, and shares with Saddleworth its administration by Oldham MBC.
53% of Oldham MB geographically is in the County of Yorkshire and 47% in the County of Lancashire.
