Very well done obviously it's not exact because vai has a way with his guitar that u can't replicate but all the same a a very skilled and well done cover
@MrGuitarboy97 The original track is in drop C tuning. For my version I transposed the back up a tone and played it in drop D so that I wouldn't have to totally readjust my tremolo.
@wannagotopopeyes I'm not sure mate, they might... I think i've downloaded POD X3 sounds before online and they worked in pod farm, so maybe they would work vice versa also.
PM me your email and you can always try... Or check the top of the comments page and I've already said to someone else what stuff I used, so maybe you can apply this to your device.
Please tell me your Pod farm setup, I play a lot of Vai with Pod farm and would love to know what you use, as I cant seem to get this tone. Many thanks!
I'm not definitely at your level...you very good player, but try do more and better at harmonics and palm muting...at rest I can't see any problem...wishing you to be a great player
@FinalApollo However to my ears they do not not as sound good for more mid gain bluesy sounds and they can sometimes get slightly harsh sounding when you roll the volume down on your guitar. They are still pretty usable for most styles though. I guess if you are after these pickups then maybe blues is not your thing! :-D
I used the crunch lab for almost all of the song except maybe for some of the fast picking parts during the solo.
@FinalApollo I installed my crunch lab with the blade facing the neck, this is what the dimarzio website reccomends and also what John Petrucci uses in his own guitars. I haven't tried installing it the other way round but apperently it makes the sound less warm and more cutting, or so i have heard.
The pickups are both high output and have great string seperation even under high gain. They cope very well and sound awesome with both high gain and clean sounds.
@shreddersk8er Yes definitely! with the replacement pickups there is not a huge difference between it and some of the prestige models. Also, before I bought the pickups I emailed Jaden Rose about my choices and he suggested both this set or a mo'joe PAF pro combination would sound good. He said that the other set would be great for more 80s style rock/shred stuff and that the Petrucci pickups would work for more modern styles.
@Erithlon The Blackstar pedal sounds great when recorded but the only disadvantage is that I can't change the sound after recording, like I can using Pod Farm as a plug- in.
I sometimes use the pedal along with Pod Farm for reverb, delay and other effects.
However, Pod Farm on is own is sometimes just more convenient than having to keep re- recording takes with the pedal if I don't like the sound.
@Andrewbevguitarist Alright, thanks man! I do have one question left, does the blackstar pedal work with a power adapter like the one that is used with Boss pedals? (the standard 9v)
can you please pass me the tab?

Anyway, here is the stuff I used to get this sound:
Amps: Treadplate Dual, Solo 100 Head (Dual Tone)
FX: Stereo Expo Chorus (Quite Slow settings), Screamer, Medium Hall Reverb, Digital Delay (one quick and the other a bit slower)

@Erithlon The Blackstar pedal comes with its own adapter in the box, you can't run it off batteries like the boss ones though.
