  • Please explain "matrix ratio"?

  • Please tell me what is the best matrix ratio for producing paper pellets and cardboard pellets

  • It's pound for pound, so 40 lbsof paper = 40 lbs pf pellets and with a machine that produces 900 lbs and hour like the New Michigan PTO model from MakeYourOwnPellets-com that would take less than 2 minutes.

  • Great idea, I wonder how much shredded paper it would take to create a 40lbs bag and how much time?

  • how much for one of them machines

how many bags of pellets can it make in one hour

  • Hi. Nice video. Did you add moisture to the shredded paper after the hammer mill, or is it bone dry going into the pellet mill ? You also seem to be feeding the pellet mill at a very slow rate. Is there a reason for this ?

  • Yes, moisture is needed to help the paper press into pellets.

  • @makewoodpellets can u tell me how much moisture you should put for lets say per 40lb bag and i guess i would get a paper shredder to shred up junk mail and such. any suggestions on pizza boxes and food boxes. I have a wood pellet/corn stove and the cost of a bag of wood pellets in NJ goes for about 5 per bag and about 7 for corn. any recommendation on what type pellet mill i should get??

  • You can get a simple 15 hp diesel unit. That would produce plenty of pellets for you. Try to stay away fro single phase electric models as they are very under-powered. As far as moisture content goes you base it on the amount present in the raw material. The raw material should be 10-15 % moisture.

  • @makewoodpellets do u think a 3 hp mill would also be just fine??

  • I do not reccommed any purchase a small "table-top" pellet mill. They are not powerful enough. sorry.

  • cool thanks

  • where u buy the machine, and how much?

  • how do you process the paper before throwing it in the pellet mill? It looks very light and 'fluffy'

  • Wonder if you could make pellets out of cow patties?

  • by what ive heard yes you can

  • @dennisndodie

They used to burn dried cow dung in ireland years ago.

  • mongol shepherds do fire patty

  • @dennisndodie Powdered cow patties could probably be burned in a sawdust heater.
