  • Very nice! It just moves way too fast to actually get an impression of the work you've done here.

  • What can I say WOW

  • challenge: make one from 11x8" paper!

  • u deserve more views and subs

  • awesome. wish i was this talented...

  • then i smash it!!!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • this is epic. great job! :D

  • when you do these time lapses dont you get hungry?

  • @rusty8785 I did take breaks. They're just not recorded.

  • Now just add a horn and make it a narwhal! 0:

  • Now... That is dedication... Over 13 hours... And ironing?

  • *mess of paper and hand movements* BAM, A FISH.

  • wow

  • Eating is the most important part of the healthy feeding. I think you missed it while folding.

  • @KHR97 I did take breaks. They're just not recorded.

  • Wow! That's amazing :)

  • hi AdamsSara your fab and your origami skills are so cool im only eleven and want to be as good as you have you got any advise? Great video by the way

  • fabulous darling. xxx

  • last step is to eat it.

  • i just learned how to do a squash fold...

  • what are you doing with the green paper??????

  • @xblueskyx23 It's a small reference piece. I was checking where to put the creases to achieve the scales in the right direction.

  • then straight after the video cuts something falls on top of the koi and flattens it lol jk

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK SHE CAN FOLD THE SUPER TESSELLATED NOT AT ALL SIMPLE FLASHER LABYRINTH!!!

  • wow thats incredible

  • you have a you yube pen a google cofee mug and a google t shirt you must be famous on the internet

  • @tecknobrain She works for google.

  • coool

  • is tha 14 hours or minutes???

  • @TheMrmonkeyman5 Hours, of course!

  • on which page are the instructions? I cant find them

  • @missabbys1 they arent in the book, he only gives you a rough idea on the placement and folding of the scales.

  • Going to be ordering the new Origami Secrets Book Revision from Robert Lang. You inspired me to try this out. I only have one problem though. In the video you use a ridiculous size piece of paper. Where may I able to obtain a piece of paper that large?

  • @BeatlesManiac0929 That's a hard question. Try large office supply stores, they may have rolls of paper this wide. I got mine at a specialist paper store where they also had wide rolls of paper. It's often sold by the meter, so you don't have to get a whole roll.

  • damn.. even using an iron for that shiz lol

  • what the fudge...I took out my piece of paper and she was done....

  • JESUS FU**ING CHRIST! AWESOME!

  • sorry...you were too slow, can you make the video go faster please?

  • I tried this and the only part i couldn't get was at the end when you had to crimp fold the tail.

  • @frontchicken answers on a postcard please

  • what is it?

  • hmm...just a little bit to fast :D

  • 14 mins OR HOURS

  • @Akshayc331 hours

  • :-o Wow!!!!!!

  • I can never be hardcore like this

  • wow!!!!

  • shes a master O_O

  • awesome job!!!

  • my goal is to be crasy enough to make this... I WANT TO BE CRAZY! :P

  • i keep watching the book pages flip :D

  • can it be done using hexagon twists and 120 degrees pleating? the scales i mean

  • @ThisisNik1 You can use any scales you like. As long as the "scaled" paper is square again you're good to go for folding the koi.

  • oops! i forgot... i want to make that origami scaled koi for my sister. but wait... i finally downloaded the book :)

  • cool!! i like to attempt that.. wait a minute..., i forgot to use iron to make the scales stronger. iron is not sucks

  • simply amazing (i wish the head had a little more detail of idk some sort looks a little boring not hating still props to you ^.^)

  • fuck why are there so many fucking scales

who long did you take to make the scales?

  • I saw that you used an iron and paper clips to as tools to sculpt the paper to the Koi form. I would like to see the key folding moves in real time, so would be bale to follow along with your demonstration. I love the detail of all the fish's scales, the fins and the expression on the its face. Great work!

  • @stanimatorblue I have plans to do a video on how to fold the koi, the scales, and perhaps the idea on how to put scales on the koi. Not sure when I'll have the time, though.

  • why are you using iron?

  • @renrenmarco To make the creases stronger, and also to get the paper to be a bit crisper again.

  • at 14 . 30 or 0:57 i fainted

  • an iron?

  • @MrSTLucho It's a giant folding bone. :)

  • @AdamsSara

what type of paper you use sara :) ?

and when you make tutorial how to make scales

  • this sucks

  • Incredible work. So many sloppy folders on here, but you are an exception. Would you mind doing Lang's BlackDevil Angler?

  • just wow

  • awesome

  • this made me dissey :-8

  • hard worked

  • how did japanesse know what thier end result will be i mean who spends hours and hours expirementing. i know i spelt it know

  • HOW HOW HOW DO YOU HAVE THAT PATIENCE

    14 HOURS FOLDING!!!

  • 0:19 are you ironing the model :)

  • You wear glasses?

  • @mobradovic00 Yes, I do. In my videos I usually try to wear contacts, though, mostly so that no reflections show in my glasses.

  • @AdamsSara was this wet folding?

  • @AdamsSara you use tape???

  • is that timer in hours:minutes? JEEZ

  • wow.....amazing!

  • i LOLed when you ironed it:DDD

  • That is beautiful!!!

  • Umm,out of curiosity is this High Intermediate or Complex?

    Also,where is this found?

  • @musicmixer112 It's hard to say. The difficulty of the steps themselves are low intermediate to intermediate. Putting it all together is mostly an exercise of patience, but it does also add a bit of difficulty. I'd say this is intermediate or high intermediate. I wouldn't call it complex at all.

  • @AdamsSara it still looks pretty complex. my experience is high intermediate so i am maybe able to make this!

  • wow great! Will we see a tutorial of this in the future?

  • @xvzw Perhaps, but split into three parts: how to fold the koi, how to fold scales, and the theory on how to put scales on that koi.

  • amazing awesome epic= aweazic

  • WOW. . . that is amazing -awestruck-

  • Awesome.

  • is it 14 hours 30 min or 14 min 30 secs??

  • @Ezprite 14 hours 30min.

  • wow 14 hours!

  • it would be funny if you made a origami shirt and ironed it :)

  • how do u have the patince to do that D:

  • @unnessasarylongname I guess I'm a patient person. And when you enjoy something, time does pass much more quickly. ;)

  • how much does it cost if i want to buy it?

  • how can you fold 14,5 h without break??? thats amazing!!!

  • @Filip49866 I didn't, but I only recorded when I was folding. I did this spread over 3 days. Still a lot of folding, of course, for one weekend. :)

  • can you make the koi fish without the scales only the body without scales

  • @ropapermaker Sure, and I'll probably make a video on it later on this year.

  • 14:30 hours?! WOOWW!

  • @AdamsSara why you iron the origami at the end?

  • @RasyidNaufal It's an enhanced bone folder. Basically, I wanted to get very strong creases and flatten the paper. The paper was a bit too soft for my liking, especially so after me handling it several hours. Ironing helped make it a bit crisper again, too.

  • How long did it take to you?? D: it´s amazing

  • @swartzwelderkari 14.5 hours

  • If you don't mind me saying so, the final shape of the Koi's head seems a little weird. Do you think that this is because you afforded too much paper to the head or not enough? It seems too wide and tall. In Origami design secrets by Robert Lang, his koi head seemed longer, and with more pronounced "wiskers". I really like the final result of your body and pectoral fins, but the head sort of ruins it for me.

All of that having been said, it was a really amazing undertaking, Congratulations!

  • Where did you get a paper that big?

  • @animatemaster In a paper store. :)

  • @AdamsSara

can you add tutorial only for scales ???

  • is this harder then the ancient dragon??

  • osea!!!!1 wow!!!!1 ke supergenial osea después de tonto doblar planchar mojar y secar debiste haber muerto estoy seguro.

que suave ke increíble que te quedo!!

  • I love how there was so much time put into the scales, and then the fish shape just kind of appeared once they were done :P

  • 14:30 hours non stop!!!!amazing!!!

  • @MrEllinas21 Ah, I definitely didn't fold non-stop. :) But I did only record when I was folding (and stopped recording inbetween).

  • woah...................

  • also ich habe garnix mitgekriegt viel zu schnell

  • @IchigosBleach Was? Das war doch 15 Stunden lang! ;)

  • did you use a iron?

  • @OrigamiWeiner Yes, although for this application I prefer calling it the "enhanced bone folder". :)

  • Comment removed

  • can you show a video on how to make the koi without scales

  • @TheUsername613 I have plans, but am not sure yet when I'll do that video. I also want to make a video explaining the scales.

  • What was the use for the hairdryer at 0:16? And where did you get the paper that you used?

  • @fushichou91 I had dampened the paper a bit, and was too impatient to wait for it to dry by itself.

  • was this hard or did it just take awhile

  • @ogi0u The scales were somewhat challenging, because the paper was a bit too soft to be really suitable for small creases. Mostly it was just time-consuming, though.

  • lucky you you can make anything from origami you even hav th book works of kamiya satoshi with a sign i have it but no sign. can you teach me to be good in origami like you?

  • amaizing 0__o

  • wtf just happened?

  • you are so sick. super cool.

  • my god this is awesome and it take sooo long :O

  • im going to use this texture effect for my origami dragon design

  • What genius!

  • hey nice video,

    you are beautyfull

ich mag alle deine videos :)

  • You know it's serious when she has to bust out the iron! lol

    Great job Sara!

  • @PianoChick36 Hey, that was probably the most helpful tool I used. Bone folder ++. ;)

  • why did you need a hairdryer at 0:54

  • @Razor2553 I dampened the paper to shape the model a bit. And was too impatient to wait for it to dry by itself.

  • wow that's amazing

  • Well, you were brave enough to try this one, when will you make an attempt on Kamiya Satoshi's Ryujin 3.5? :D

  • 14 to 15 hours! thats longer than t takes to fold kamiya satoshi's ancient dragon (which takes about 4 to 5 hours)

  • @AnimalKing22 Well, I'm sure I could complete the koi in less time if I'd have had different paper. And the ancient dragon did take me longer than 4 to 5 hours (on my first try), although sure not quite as long as this project.

  • The folds look to be quite similar to Chuka Ryu, is it difficult to fold them like that or just time consuming? The reason I ask is because I found the diagram for Chuka Ryu yesterday and when I get the right paper size try and fold it.

  • @Oliiiverr The scales need some skill, but they're mostly time-consuming.

  • I like it =D

  • @Luisito9818 About 14.5 hours. There's a (not so obvious) counter in the bottom right corner of the videos. It counts up in 10 minute steps.

  • WOW!! it is amazing how you can fold that from 1 giant piece of paper! that is amazing! you are soooo goood at origami. i wish i could make something like that!

  • Hot. So hot.

  • I couldn't help but laugh at 1:02 when for a second Sara showed us her tongue.

  • holy christ what the...

  • doesn't rEALLY LOOK like a koi!!!!!!!

  • awsome

  • It looks like you're playing piano.

  • i think youve done it for 4 to 5 hours right?

  • @dpogitae4 more like 14 15 ;)

  • @AdamsSara ohhh 14 to 15 love it

  • Wooow you are absolutely amazing! How are you able to achieve such precision on a complicated and huuuge model such as this? I'm really happy you are around to teach me (and probably the others but I can't guarantee about them :D) cool stuff :-)

  • You are my role model!! grate job..... you are great....

  • @AdamSara I have been folding for a few years now and i recently bought Lang's book Origami Design secrets. I need help with a few steps on the tree frog model. please get back to me soon if you are willing to help. It's steps 16-19. I'm using a 42cm x 42cm sheet of home maid tissue foil. Get back to me soon Thanks.

  • uhhh i dont really get how to do the scales i never really understood

  • hi i been watching your vids and i'm wondering, just how do you know how much paper you're going to need and seem to never run out or have to much.. specially with some of your bigger projects?

  • @SasieSpice Ah, I have lots of paper, so you might say I've got too much. I wouldn't say I have too much, though. :) For some projects I specifically buy paper. For example, for this koi I bought paper the day I started folding it.

  • @AdamsSara yea but is there like a technique you use to at least gauge if a paper is big enough for the bigger projects? also i've seen you use different shape or "cut" of paper or um. i forget the word. but you used like a long slender paper for the eastern dragon, and a more square'ish paper for the kio

  • Good God where do you find the patience?!

  • is this harder than the ancient dragon

  • @yoyoguylol no way

  • very fast. I am the same person who told you on your site that i got as far as step 170 but it tore:)Actually i cant fold ancient dragon step 64-67, somebody else at school folded it for me, i am not being able to fold.any help?
