  • Is there a reason you are using these two layers instead of simply using one invert layer on 'color' blend mode?

  • @Rastereyes This video was done a long time ago. It has already been noted, years ago, that YES you can use the Hue or Color Blend Mode for one INVERT Adjustment Layer. Silly me!--I just wasn't aware of that at the time! So, in answer to your question, and a math anomaly.... 1 = 2.

  • @photoshopmama

OK, I thought maybe there was something else to it... some other reason you would want to adjust these separately or something.

  • @Rastereyes Nope, no reason that I can see to use 2 when 1 does the trick. Thanks for bringing it up, as it is a good point, and it reminded me to add it to the more info link on the video.

  • but thats "infra blue" ?

  • that's amazing. you're so clever.

any ideas about how to create infrared colour film with an orange filter?

    there's a challenge!

  • i done it like minute ago and it is great xD

thanks very much to show that :)

  • boom...thanks mama

  • i did enjoy it.

    very good tutorial, thanks!

  • I took shots in our backyard (Nikon D200)

  • how and where do you find such large pictures ? :)

  • lmao this buddy and I had such a crazy but beautiful time last night!

  • Thanks, I had been looking around for this and your tutorial is just great !!!

  • Hi. The first couple of pics I edited using this video the final colours were a bit to rich. I added saturation -40% before following the video instructions. Vastly improved final images. Thanks for uploading this video.

    Regards Phil.

  • Great tip, Phil!

  • tricks are for kids?? kthx

  • Thanks for that :D

  • Horrible, this has nothing to do with real IR.

  • I think you're basing your response on limited knowledge of only black and white Infra Red. There is also Color Infra Red. Look up facts about Kodak Ektachrome Professional EIR film and broaden your scope. Color Infra Red and Black and White Infra Red are nothing alike.

  • cool stuff!!

  • Just a heads up...

I'ts just easier and quicker to make just one invert adjustment layer and then set its blending mode to "color". It's the very same thing you are doing there with both adjustment layers.

  • Absolutely, kudos!

  • This is wicked cool! I just went back and did a bunch of my photos -- they look way cool. I think I'll be posting my results on my photography blog tomorrow morning.

  • Where is your blog? I'd like to go see what you did, too!

  • hey thanks for the tip. i've been using Adobe suite for 3 years and this is the first time i've come across this technique.

  • Playing in Photoshop is an adventure! Been an Adobe Certified Expert since 1999 & I still learn how 2 do something new in Photoshop every day I play in it! (continued)

  • I do know a fair amount about Photoshop, & try 2 share that-but also know that I will never know everything there is 2 know about Photoshop & I don't think anyone can! There are just too many functions, filters, etc that can b combined in various ways which yield a myriad of different effects-Then there's the brain leak factor-maybe I knew how 2 do that yesterday but 2day it seems brand new! LOL!

  • Thats awsome =) DO you mind telling me what software you use to record the screen?

  • Thanks! Don't mind telling at all -- I use Camtasia Studio with a Samson CO1U USB Studio Condenser Microphone! The most awesome screen recording software for a PC in my opinion!
