Curt Smith did lead vocals on the entire album "The Hurting" and on "Everybody Wants To Rule the World". Since then, as far as Tears For Fears is concerned, he has only provided bass and backing vocals.
No, livebackwards, Roland has always been the main vocalist from the earliest days. Curt sang lead on Mad world, Pale Shelter and Change from the Hurting album, which happened to be the singles and thus were the best known, and The Prisoner; but Roland soloed on the really heavy stuff--Memories Fade, Watch Me Bleed, Start of the Breakdown. You are right though, that is the most Curt was involved until the last album (ELAHE) when he was more involved with the songwriting.
I love in a worldly sense TFF, and Roland is one of the best talents to eevr record music, but how wrong the message in this song is. Roland God's love is difficult to understand, but it is anything but a mistake. God demonstarted love by dying for those that at one time pursued evil against Him, yet He bore the penalty we all so severely deserve. Now that is love, and God show us love and showed us that true love without any guile is truly divine

I love TFF a lot. It's a shame what happened in the 90's between Roland and Curt, but that happens in a lot of bands. Although I missed Curt Smith, I still devoutly listened to TFF with just Roland fronting the group. Elemental and RATKOS were GREAT albums. I was glad when Curt and Roland reunited as the popular duo in 2002. I agree with Vancitykyle, they are more than just that awesome 80's band!
Tears for Fears is my all time favorite group, I love Rolands voice. There songs are so involved. My kids had to grow up listening to all my CD's of them. Now they have them on their Ipods. lol

Yeah they did some reunion on A^E in 2006 and it ended up being the lowest rated program in history on that channel. It was still a good special though.....
I think that their reunion wasn't well promoted. In fact many TFF fans had limited knowledge of their reunion CD and associated tour. Still, those who saw them reported good things. Next time I hope they secure a decent publicist to do some advance press.

I love TFF a lot. It's a shame what happened in the 90's between Roland and Curt, but that happens in a lot of bands. Although I missed Curt Smith, I still devoutly listened to TFF with just Roland fronting the group. Elemental and RATKOS were GREAT albums. I was glad when Curt and Roland reunited as the popular duo in 2002. I agree with Vancitykyle, they are more than just that awesome 80's band!

Tears for Fears is my all time favorite group, I love Rolands voice. There songs are so involved. My kids had to grow up listening to all my CD's of them. Now they have them on their Ipods. lol

Yeah they did some reunion on A^E in 2006 and it ended up being the lowest rated program in history on that channel. It was still a good special though.....

I think that their reunion wasn't well promoted. In fact many TFF fans had limited knowledge of their reunion CD and associated tour. Still, those who saw them reported good things. Next time I hope they secure a decent publicist to do some advance press.
