This combines both of the original comic book versions of Hawkman, but that's ok, they combined them in the comics recently too.
The first Hawkman, WW2 era, was a human from Earth named Carter Hall, and the most recent reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince named Khufu.
The silver age Hawkman was an alien from Thanagar named Katar Hol.
Before the mid 80s, they existed on two different but parallel Earths. The 80s event Crisis on Infinite Earths combined the two Earths, confusion ensued.
