  • Nothing new your using the Microsoft Windows Table-top p.c. with software and small pieces of glass using rf chips to recognize the function of each one. Many stores around seattle are using the same technology in bars when one places there drink down on a table it tells the contents of the drink and the facts behind it as well as the price. Nothing new here at all.

  • there's nothing that you can't get in a store. a touchscreen LCD, and a realy fancy software. ofcourse you also need an engieer's mind and abilities. there's no reason to think that this is a holographic cristals

  • Kind of... excessive? Why not just open a window with these things? If the crystal stores so much data, put it inside the computer.

Oh, right, that's not new, exciting, or trendy. That's just more storage space. We need to emulate TV logic in order to impress people.

  • @TheBSG I was just thinking the same thing but hey microsofts multi touch screens look a lot cooler this look like a cheaper version.

  • wer u get tat!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • WOW.... who knew this would actually happen in the future?! this is fcking crazy///// looks like from a sci-fi movie

  • Ummm...

If anyone watches 2057, these are holographic crystals.

They hold huge amounts of data and are probably going to be the most common data storage type in the future.

  • isnt the point of having this technology, so we dont have to have piles of discs or in this case peaces of glass. i would rather have a folder i could pull up with thoughs things in it.

  • (O)(O)

  • thats the microsoft touch screen thingy mabob

  • rock on dude

  • Awesome! It's got MS Paint!!!

  • its not MS microsoft wouldnt give their software to a competior like sony. Microsoft is making surface and this is their main opponent

  • Nice man what is it?

  • no idea sorry dude lol

  • ^^ :P

  • this is what microsoft is doing

  • so the plate is a monitor? or the disc? how does this work?

  • wow.... you are a fag

  • If they could shrink that down somehow that would be an awsome gadget to have.

  • omfg NEEEEED

  • lks like a cia criminal record computer

  • cool, but its hard to understand whats goin on

  • mindblowing masterpiece...

  • hahaha thats is soo cool

  • awesome

  • Looks like the Data room plates in 2010/

  • Interesting method of interaction.

  • It would be more interesting if there was some kind of running commentary and maybe talk about future practical applications for this. It's really neat but it's hard to understand completely what is going on.

  • Cool....

  • Could become part of a security system...you'd need the correct piece of glass put at the correct place to enter a string of visual code, fingerprints and so on with one or more ppl at the same time... or kind of a tetris :p

  • Interesting...

  • cool :-)

  • that is pretty damn cool!

  • very interesting!

  • It is cool for digital freaks who likes things complicated.

  • cant see a use for this.. it all can be done without the big hunks of hardware

  • Genial, but not so useful. Should find a concept.

  • OMG. thats awesome.

  • lol old

  • what you didn't know - these tablets also serve as cooking plates

  • WOW

  • cool, weird n confusing.. More details?

  • Very cool. Having the plate with secured personal data may be helpful with purchase something somethere.

  • cool but not very practical

  • What's the point of the plates? It just seems to be a touchscreen that can recognise plates. Nice Operating System (software) though

  • the plates interact, like interchangable pieces of code. stream of conciousness os, its cool. wont be popular though.

  • Well im Guessing its more of a Concept Thing not Really Meant for more than being pretty damn Cool

  • weird

  • O_o
