I'm sorry, but any respect I had for a remake of Red Dawn is gone now. For one thing, the Chinese (and maybe the Russians) are the only ones who could still feasibly pose a threat to the USA were they to attack conventionally. The North Koreans certainly don't have the capacity to do so, despite having the world's 5th largest military. At this point, they should get rid of the remake entirely.

My feelings are a bit mixed towards the change, (I am Chinese myself), personally I thought this movie if using Chinese would just "demonize" and stereotyping Chinese (shit like Flashpoint) and more US flag waving. However using Sino-Russian alliance would be more plauseable setting as both country got the economy, resource, military and enough manpower than the impoverished N.Korea. This did this to the video game Homefront as well. It was written by the same guy John Milus. However it was edited from the Chinese to North Koreans near the end of the development cycle so the whole game ended up being a clusterfuck of confusing as they tried to hamfist and reason of how North Korea invades America.
