If you know the show Frasier, you know that Martin (the father) doesn't share his sons' interest in opera (or other "culture"). It's funny because two brothers are singing this song (which is a moment in the opera when a man is trying to convince a woman to marry him), and because of the father's reaction.
The scene before 'many awful facts about the scary hippo', I love Niles and Frasier's characters but they need Martin there just to balance it all off. It's amazing how two characters can be so pompous and arrogant and yet still be so loved!
Can someone explain this? I don't get it.
