Yeah but unfortunately everyone who has used a Palm Pre has called it "cheap crap" and said that the sides are too sharp, the plastic is cheap, the screen can MELT, the hinge is loose and has caused an "oreo effect" for several Pre owners.. Unfortunately, this phone just isn't what it looks like. The iPhone is way more solid.

Hows this "wireless" charger any different from an iPhone dock? lol still gotta plug it in, and you still gotta set it on the magnet.... Oh and they get to charge you an extra $70.... and the Web OS is based on Lunux..... and the Web OS will not be able to capture the needs of most iPhone users.....it's got good web capabilities.... lol but thats it.

okay the pre has a great display but thats really all im going to give it. the battery.. as said in the video is terrible and the qwerty is not the best.. compared to lets say a blackberry's.

Um, the iPhone can definitely not do all of that, the biggest one being multi-tasking. The most multi-tasking the iPhone can do is listen to music while surfing the web. It can't have multiple apps open without having to hit the home button and switching between the 2. With the Pre, you can have quite a few apps open at the same time, and shuffle through them quickly.

I wont be bothering with this phone. Never had much luck with the long term reliability of sliding format phones. Usually the sliding mechanism breaks or gets very rough after a few months.

Biggest drawback is definitely battery life...however, the CNET article stated that Palm is aware of this and is planning on releasing an update to address it.

In the meantime, turning your WiFi "ON", according to Palm, will put less strain on the battery. Also, turn your AIM to "offline"...issue will also be addressed in the next update.

Also, you don't get the wireless charger for free...it is sold as an accessory for $69.99. And you might want to be careful leaving it on that charger and using it as a clock when not in use. Everything I know about lithium batteries tells me that continuous full charge coupled with the increased heat is a BIG no-no for Li-ion batteries.

A lot of potentional for this phone.. It has the new processor, and the os is amazing. & SUPPORTS 4G! Now to play the waiting game and wait for the apps to come.. I currently own, and I have a say cause i've had both.. So far I can say that this phone does not kill the iphone, only b/c limited app source.. It's up to sprint how they want their app content to be viewed and uploaded. Free ware is key to this phone's success..

Wrong. The iPhone does have Universal search, which according to Engadget is better than that of the Pre. Also the iPhone of course can sync with iTunes. There are only 12 apps now in the Pre app catalog. The iPhone has a much larger selection of apps.

The magnetic charger that they say you get for free is actually a $70 dollar upgrade over the base price.

Also that base price is $299 with a $100 mail-in-rebate, not $100.
