this event was acutally based on a true story of an event that Beverly Mitchell experienced. Brenda Hampton thought it would be a good idea for an episode.

@sandylovessweets It is about a reverend, his wife and their 5 children (later 7). They face everyday issues like drugs, bullying, pregnancy, racism, etc. and they help people out. It has 11 seasons. I reccommend the first 10 because those were the best ones. The writer ended the show and then started writing her next show, and then the TV station brought the show back for an 11th season which in my opion sucked. But anyway, feel free to check it out :)

I remember seeing this episode with my mom and we were both crying :_( This is by far one of the saddest episodes of the whole show...That show was one of the few on TV that was based off a Christian family...I don't think there is a single show like this one now, which is sad

They probably put it in because the writer had given the show a happy ending, and when they brought it back they had no sets of twins available. So they had her have a miscarriage. They also had Bev sing this song as her character Lucy, about Lucy having a miscarriage. But this was dedicated to her real life best friend.

Well, what I think is that Beverley herself dedicated the song to her real life friend who died. But in the TV show it was dedicated to the loss of her twins for it to fit into the storyline.

@buffypii I am a huge fan so i can help. It is dedicated to her real life friend who died in a car crash. In the show, in one of the earlier seasons, they made lucy's bestfriend die in a car crash. In the show, that is who it is dedicated too. its very sad and touching. so in real life and the show, it brings tears to my eyes.

What's so sad is that this really did happen to Beverly (Lucy) and the song Beverly is singing is actually about her best friend Tammy who really did die in a freak car crash. They did this episode about a year after the accident and Stephen Collins (Eric) directed it. Her friends were allowed on the set and they helped her get though it. The first time I saw this I was amazed at the talent Beverly had. When I found out how close to the story she was I realized how strong she was as well.
