  • I have goosebumps when i hear this.

  • A pop masterpiece, but I hate this way-too-short single version with the late entrance, early fade and abrupt edit (in arguably the cut's best part). I never liked this song until I heard the full 6:08 album version.

Get the album version, put on the Bose phones and dim the lights . . .

  • big boys dont cry.they do you know.love can tear you apart.

  • One of the most beautiful songs of all times and Eric Stewart is sooo sexy!

  • this song is very atmospheric, I wasn't born til '77 so it was a bit before my time but I can imagine this would take me right back if I'd been around when it first came out!

  • This song Reminds me of my sister..I was in 7th grade and she would come home from a date and wak in the door singing this song...come to think of it she still does

  • This song came out just a she left me for someone else. Once apon a time, we may have been in love. But, the reality was, I guess, we were just kids. 1975.

  • This stuff was great but it was mixed for AM radio, too bad.

  • I bought the album 10cc Origanal Motion Picture Sound Track, which has this song on it when I was in Germany in 74 or 75 can't remember. Back then I was told that their band name 10cc is in referance to the amount of ejaculate that the average human male discharges. Truth or fiction, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Truth. Lots of humour (appropriate or otherwise) in this group.

  • brilliant

  • music will never top the sounds of the 70's not even close!!! even the 80's were so much better than the shit they produce now. so sad that rap is king now even though they borrow rifs from back then to make their shitty songs sound good!!!

  • I wish I had a time machine...I'd go get Eric at the moment this was recorded. Hot. :)

  • Shh..big boys don't cry....big boys don't cry....

  • Well sometimes they do

  • i love this group.i wonder if Eric Stewart wrote this song.

  • He did, but it's a case where emerging studio technology blurred the divide between writers and producers. Most of the band, and many of the studio staff, seem to have contributed.

  • thanks for the info.I wonder if he wrote that song about a life experience.

  • No, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme wrote the song.

  • i watched on youtube where Eric Stewart and Graham had something to do about writting the song.

  • They played this song in the remake of the movie

    "Sabrina."

  • The lyrics are amazing - I've always adored how everything said in the lyric is the exact opposite of how he feels. I was in my early 20's and loved that 10cc song. i remember it on TOTP's too. You know this song is about how we all felt at one time in our growing up years. Good on ye guys...

  • i liked but, makes me cry sweet memorys

  • Man, for those of us who experienced or were born in the 70's.....THIS BRINGS IT BACK. I MISS THE GOOD TIMES & FANTASTIC MUSIC! After the mid 80's, music simply hasn't been as good. Makes ya wanna cry, yet keep listening!

  • Amen brother

  • BIG BOYS DON'T CRY!

  • I also love the music before the age of Reagan, AIDS and terrorism. (But then again, I also love lots of music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and the latest R&B, and even stuff from Taylor Swift, Ke$ha, Beyonce, Kate Nash, etc.

There is still some good stuff out there and talented singers/musicians are still around. You just have to look for it.

  • fantastic 70s

  • how come we don't get quality music anymore like we used to!! All we have lots of craps nowadays..

  • God, I miss the 70's. I was a teenager during the later 70's but I'm happy I was able to experience real freedom before it all went down the drain with Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush.

Also, the music was the best in the 1970's. Period.

  • so tender, so sweet

  • Yesterday I was watching Deuce Giggolo, sometimes I wonder was was the name of this song, fortunately this is in the motion picture soundtrack, I like this song to much.

  • one of the best pop songs of all time, among the ten best, i may add. if it evokes something that i can't explain, and i fall for that, it is a perfect song for me.

  • Greenville, South Carolina, D. Scarborough and trying not to be in love.

  • My husband recalls this always being played during the HIMALAYAN ride at carnivals & it being really cold. Not to mention the roller rink during couples strolls. Wooooo! GOOD GOOD GOOD times! I WANT THE 70's back....just NOT the bad things!

  • This song has always had a way of getting me to stop and feel.... It's very deep. It's always been a favorite of mine, and always will remain that to me.....

  • I born in 1975 i would like travel in time, and see how was the world in the 70s, I love the music and everything...beatiful song thanks for take the time uploding.

  • MUSIC like this simply is NOT made anymore! NOTHING but crap out there today. Fantastic era & memorable moments.......70's/80's were awesome!

  • I agree

  • Man...I still have this original 45 record. Great tune!!

  • I think we've all been there at one time or another...how our pride can get in the way of so many opportunities.

  • This song will always remind me of a beautiful girl named Janet who I fell in love with when this first came out. To this day she's still the nicest person I've ever known and I love her. Great song. Great, great lady.

  • When I lost my husband in 9/11 it was hard for me to let love in and when i found someone who i thought was my savior my life line to a normal existence again, my sister was killed by a drunk driver and all my faith was destroyed and my very reason for living evaporated. He was not strong enough to pick up the pieces of my shattred heart. Every reason i had to love has left me. God please don't destroy my faith this way! Is there love for me out there and will i see my loved ones again??!!

  • I believe....

  • I was four when this song came out. It is one of those songs that endears itself to you whether it is from your youth or a current heartbreak or reflecting on loves gone past. Just hauntingly poetic and simple, but seems to say exactly what your heart needs to.

  • I dedicate this song to my first girlfriend Denise. I will never forget her. I was not ready for her - many things had to change. And they did - we both grew up and made old hurts right. Praise God! Why not reconcile with someone today?

  • infinera, it gets played every day all over the world

  • Ignorant remark.

  • This is 10 cc

  • Im not in love and i wish more ladys would understand that..........

  • If you don't say you are in love, then we will understand. If you lie and say you are in love, "get some" and later say you are not in love, our opinions of you would change.

  • Big boys don't cry....

  • Haunting, mesmerizing, intoxicating, dreamy. Pure sub-conscious.

  • Everybody should read the Wikipedia article on this song to find out how the production was done...mind blowing.

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I read the Wikipedia article and you are right. Not surprisingly (if you are familiar with their subsequent work), band members Godley and Creme were the driving force behind the final version of this song.

  • mash humor :)

  • Nurse! I need 10cc of haunting synth and heartache stat!

  • I wore this 8 track out...big boys don't cry...so I have to go now....grinz...

  • This is one of those songs that brings us all back to a special time in our lives and is every bit as wonderful as it was the very first time we heard it. I guess you might call it a classic. Thank you very much Annie. 3 thumbs up(:(|)
