I really did not see it. But it was a Battalion Chief's rig - Not an engine. I was using the flip out viewer on my camcorder and could not see it because of the glare. It was 4 or 5 blocks away when I was filming. Actually, the other rigs coming from that direction were about 6 blocks away when they were first captured on video.

It's changed now. Now only one unit responds hot and checks it out. If they get there and it's legit, then everyone else reponding runs hot and loud.

Only if it is an automatic fire alarm do you get an adaptive response with the first engine running hot and the balance running cold. If fire communications receives a report of a fire then everybody runs hot until instructed otherwise. That was the case when this video was made and that is the way it still is.

Oh ok man I'm sorry. I was at #17 with my dad and a fire alarm activated call came in and E-17 was the only one who responded hot. We got there and it was nothing so dispatch turned everyone else around.

They cost at least $150 CAD each ($300 a pair).

i use to be a fire fighter and the state law does say when a fire truck or cop car or ambulance or anything els you got to pull over if not u can get fined big time. i use to be on hixton vol fire and there was a car the didn't get over when we where comming up the road sat a wisconsin state trooper waiting for that car
