man i know it's hard but if hear carefuly, this song has the foot hi hat when playing the ride cymbal. i was messing around my kit and i foud that it's even harder to play with the hi hit pattern, you should practice it, you will be able to play it for sure
@8sasquatch8 looks like a paiste "reverend big al" to me, its an alex van halen signature ride. in my opinion, dont bother, its a monster at 24", if you can find one and afford it, look for a nicko mcbrain paiste "powerslave" signature ride, amazing with a great bell. or a paiste sewart copeland signature ride. good luck,
well im sure he doesnt have it doesnt exactly perfectly, neil peart was a master of ghost notes after all, if u know what that is. and also, all the pro drummers you know about in big bands are more on time than metronomes.
If he truly can play this...well he's a genius (the whole song I mean). If it's just the chorus/main riffs patterns well it's very good in 6 monts. If he can't really...well... it's quite normal...
Playing along the song is not so hard. After all it's not so hard to follow. But playing Nail's drums part is really somethnig else. I guess you're still not making the différence but hey still not bad to follow Rush. If you can really play this song after one year of drumming I want to see ;).
wow...impressive! I like watching these types of videos and seeing how different we all set up our kits, and how we all have a preference on snare sounds. You are one hell of a drummer bro!
Awesome cover, very impressive! Was going to ask, what's with the "Ok I think that was 30 seconds!" on the beginning? I've noticed Martin Periard leaves 30secs on the beginning of his covers too, anyone know why?
seems you are a great man.. luck with the drums and thanks for all!! you have helped me with many questions about Neils Peart drumming.. he is amazing just like you!!! great drums... they sound wonderful.. your ride is just amazing!!! well.. I have no words left.. LUCK!!
man, your videos are great, so is your performance!.
but, maybe you could try improve the audio? perhaps geting some mics and record it with something?? it would be awesome to hear your kit with a better sound.
ATTN: My YouTube friends my 22" DW front bass drum head is for sale on eBay! (I just got a black one) check it out, it has a "Holz" hole reinforcement ring installed! my eBay username is ray2112 (not rays2112)
dude you are incredibly slick when you play the parts at 0:38 and 0:42. nice job i could ever get both my legs to move in opposite directions up and down while still playing flawlessly. great job dude. dont ever quit.
i noticed that i was wondering if you could do a re-recording of YYZ and use that at the beginning. instead of just starting after that. i think that would be cool and you would be an even awesomer drummer if you did do it.
loved it. as always your the best, i read your comments everytime, all of them and i have to tell you ray, people love you! even the people you disagree with or could be irate with, you treat them with gentleness and respect and are so humble. i agree with the ones who say you need to be on the road. some band out there badly needs you! i am and will remain a big fan!! neli250
no shit, I am calling out bullshit on this one. Like this guy never sat there and practiced the shit out of this song, I don't believe his "one take" arrogance. The comment was meant for rays2112.
