@marksman9939 Wilson Combat has a lot of newer features plus there made bad ass, but at the end of the day its how many rounds you can land on target. I put maybe 1,200 rounds through it... no issues at all

That pistol has a magazine in it and it has not been safety checked (regardless of it being straight out of the box) and the muzzle was pointed towards the camera and the trigger was pulled several times ( I can see that the hammer is down, but that is not the point)..........that is how people get hurt...........SLOPPY GUN CONTROL !!

Did you have any problems with the screws changing out the grips? I've heard the studs can come out with the screws. I had that happen on a Colt. I just wondered if the Springfields were better in that regard. Thanks.

Someone with a buffing wheel can clean up that barrel top in a few seconds, jeweler, custom knife maker etc. They all come that way from the factory because they have to fit the lugs, they don't take the seconds it would take to clean up the marks as they should. But they can't keep up with production either. Selling like hotcakes.

The slides and frames on all Springfields made by IMBEL in BRAZIL are hot forged steel and the quality is second to NONE...even COLT. The problem with WW I era 1911s were that they would not retain accuracy after awhile due to the metal being too soft. A current Colt, Kimber, or Springfield are forged from better steel and hold their accuracy for years.

I was going to swap out the sights on mine, but I painted the front sight blade, and it made a big difference. Try that before you change the sights. Once you change the sights, its not the GI anymore, it's the MIL-SPEC.

Yeah you can change out just about anything on your gun including the sights, you may want a gunsmith to do it.

because springfield armory has an additional internal lock on the back if you look you can see two small holes for the key. I heard that the lock may cause some parts to malfunction.

Mine is the blued look and I kinda want black grips but the black on wood grips looks pretty clean to me.. If I had a stainless I would get some black grips like you did. Here are the specks Springfield 1911 A1 N3490665 Geneseo IL USA also stamped is Made in Brazil with a seal reading spingfield armory 1974. It too is stainless steel. This gun hits dead on at 25 yrds. I love it i just don't know about it and how much it might be worth. I also have the XD 40 but very different gun indeed. Love the 1911. thanks for any info.

Well it could not be from the orginal Springfield armory, they closed the doors in 1968, but the new Springfield Armory today was opend in 1974, so it could be one of there reproductions.
