  • Not bad!

Good costumes, good props, great location, good effects, very nice music editing. The story kind of cosnfused me, but other than that, nice job! :D

  • KOTOR music? I'm already orgasming.

  • Wow...this was one of the best fan-films I have seen. I like how you added many of your own elements rather than borrowing too much dialogue from the original trilogy; which a lot of the fan films do. Please tell me that you are now working for ILM, because this was just fantastic. Your a genius!

  • @GenevaRob72 Wow, thanks. I wish I worked for ILM, that would be sweet. I've been thinking of uploading an HD version since Youtube now allows for longer videos and HD quality. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Great video, thanks for your effort guys.

  • @AdiooSk8 Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it.

  • Awesome Job Are You one Jedi dies after his master die ?

  • weres the next part?

  • @DarthTheous We could only make Episode 2. Unfortunately Episode 1 and 3 are still only scripts.

  • loved the CGI ship, how'd you guys develop that?

  • @MichaelLGibbons I did all the 3D models and animation in Bryce 5. Most people would say Bryce isn't for that, but I made it work. All the ships are made out of simple shapes, but crafted in a way so they look like complex meshes.

  • I was expecting the second guy to take the saber for himself. The ending was surprising and enjoyable. Nice job! Vader's voice acting was great too.

  • @AdtG Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • God that must've been FUN!! LOL!!

    Great job fells!!

    Kudis!

    And Kudis again!

  • very cool movie and cool special effects

i also malke star wars fan films, so if you want you can watch it here on youtube.

It´s called: star wars the dark side 3 the dark machination

    so have fun^^

  • So, I know I might be making a leap in logic, but I assume that Sol and Kal were former Jedi that Vader recruited/brainwashed? I'm just asking because Kal seems a bit too noble-minded for a pure-bred Sith.

  • Close. Sol and Kal are former imperial soldiers Vader recruited/trained. They aren't true dark Jedi. They do let anger help them in battle, but they aren't Sith either. Think of them as force wielding soldiers/spies.

Some of their back story will be presented in Part 1 and even more in Part 3. While Part 1 is half finished I don't know when I'll be able to start part 3. That's why we did part 2 first, it required only a few actors. Part one will be an audio drama and part 3 will be "animated".

  • @kainkusanagi oh so its like wat george lucas did he said he did 4 5 and 6 first because at the time he had 4 trilogies but 4 5 and 6 were easiest to do

  • the last bit with the dark saber was good but i think the color should have ben black or silver

  • I ran a few tests and nothing looked as good as red. Black and negative looked really bad so i decided to go with classic red.

  • what software did you use to make the lightsaber effects?

  • Adobe After Effects.

  • how do u make the lightsabers to do that, like turn on and off, and special effects?

  • That's a two part trick.

First you have the actor pretend to turn the Lightsaber on with no stunt rod in the hilt. Then they make their first move, still without the rod. Then you cut, change camera position, and put the stunt rod in the hilt. After that they can now hit each other's Lightsabers together.

The second part is all in post production. Adding in the Lightsaber special effects is a frame by frame process that takes a lot of time.

  • nice bowl cut

  • Takie trochę żenua, jakby film nieco na siłę zrobiony

  • Assasination fail @ the end lol

  • Pretty good work... I liked the fight scene, the use of the ammo can :o) , and the ending. 5/5

  • Thanks, all the props are made from stuff that was either cheap or free. This was a total "no budget" fan film.

  • Well, I certainly appreciate the effort. I enjoyed the film very much. I like the Star Wars saga and enjoy seeing the ideas of others brought to life on film.

  • Question: How the hell did you guys get Ashton Kutcher to be in this movie?! haha!

  • Really good job guys. I especially like how you introduced the idea of summoning the light saber into the opponent, that was not done in the movies. It lends to the idea of dueling without even holding the light saber. Again, Great Job!

  • Thanks

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeepiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic

  • this was actually really good, effects and fighting were very good, acting was ok 4/5 stars

also if you get a chance can you check out my star wars videos

  • So you created another mask, then set it to subtract and drew the mask over the part of the lightsaber that passes behind a character?

  • You got it!

  • Several things:

    1. How could this have come out before ROTS if it uses the ROTS music?

    2. What did you use as your lightsaber clash (in After-Effects)?

    3. How do you do the lightsaber obscurities (when it passes behind someone)? I've always wondered on that one and never have been able to figure it out.

  • Ok I'll answer in order.

    1. I don't think the music really determines the era.

    2. I animated a flash effect and screened it in After FX.

    3. The lightsabers are After FX Masks and layers so I just used another mask to cut out the parts that would be behind a character. It was very time consuming.

  • NO! once a lightsaber goes threw you, even if it dont kill you, you still cannot get up walk and kill someone else.

  • Well the Darksaber has special dark powers and resurrected and healed him.

  • how did a lightsaber through the chest not kill him O.O

  • Oh it killed him, the Darksaber just has other planes. After Sol's "Death", the spark from the evil Darksaber forebodes his return.

  • Bravo, short, but cool. Could be better though.

Cool idea and for an none-budget production it had special effects:D

  • Thanks. This production had a lot of first for me and I learned a lot about all aspects of filming. There are things I would do differently now and some I wouldn't change for anything.

  • I respect the dedication you guys seem to have, it kinda reminds me of James Rolfe's early works, no budget but full of spirit and acting greatness!

  • Thanks. We set out to to make a Star Wars fan film, with almost nothing. Learned everything along the way. We had one camera, two actors, and a script limited by what we thought was possible. It was a challenge to film while hoping we could do the things in post production we had yet to learn.

I think it turned out pretty well and I'm glad you liked it.

  • great job guys, really well done!

  • it was good but u like copied what anakin and obiwan said in episode 3 just switched up the words a little

  • It's interesting that you would say that because this was filmed before Revenge of the Sith came out and I wrote the script before even any teasers/trailers were released. I guess when it comes to Star Wars betrayal comes out coincidentally.

  • I've heard worse dialouge. this was pretty good. the fighting was great! the SPX was some of the best I've seen in fan vids. good job on the ships. the republic cruiser is one of my favs. Please hurry with episode III!

  • where and how did u get and create the light sbers

  • Plumbing supplies, glue, paint, and original designs. It was a fun do-it-yourself project and I was/am happy it worked out so well.

If you want to know more I can e-mail you a pdf tutorial I made for a guy who wanted to know too. Just PM me your e-mail address and I can send it to you.

The special FX were done in Adobe After Effects.

  • how did u do theses videos

  • A love of Star Wars, four guys, lots of time/effort, no budget.

  • The dialogue and acting was pretty cheesy, I'll agree, but I thought the final battle was just fucking amazing!!! Very good combat scene.

  • cheesey

  • it's......ok the dialouge is pretty corny though lol.

  • wow fast credits

  • I figured it was too hard too read on youtube to waste peoples time with so I sped them up just for youtube.

  • very impressive

  • very, very, VERY cool! you guys did an awsome job! cant wait to see the dark soul saga! the effects were on par with the films in my opinion and the acting was better than the episode 2 also my opinion, keep it up ang good luck with your other projects!

  • It reminds me Anakin - Obi-Wan duel in every way :)

    Good job, guys!

  • Who the fucked thumbed down your comment twice?

  • some posers probably ;]

  • wow really great movie. For a fan movie this is really good done. 5 stars.

btw which model is the ship?

  • It's basically a Republic Cruiser, but I made a few minor changes to simplify it and colored it blue. I built it from scratch in Bryce 5.

  • Im not dead yet!

  • If this was in the theaters I would go watch it

  • Great acting, great story, great FX, this has everything.

You guys did a fantastic job creating an original film based in Star Wars lore. I love the dark jedi aprentice of Darth Vader storyline and the weapon of darkness is a realy cool idea for a film. You did a great job, keep it up!

I can't wait to see the next one.

  • Lord of the Lightsaber ;)

It feels like the lightsaber maid you want it like the ring in LOTR.

But a negativ thing in my point of view is that you should remeber that the Jedis hade trained all their lifes with a lightsaber, but here it did just feel like they just started, make the fight better thats all.

Good effects, kind of good acting might have to work abit on that.. Well done still.

  • Right on, I really enjoyed this. I give 5 stars. It's obvious you put a lot of time and energy into this. Only 2 critiques. The guy with the facial hair seemed to be trying to hard with his acting voice. And edit some of the ship landing and space sequences in parts 1 & 2 that run too long. Overall great special effects, weapons, ships, sounds, music, etc. Very well put together. George Lucas would be proud. Fun story... so when is Dark Saga III Dark Soul coming? I'm ready.

  • I think both my actors did a great job, in some cased better then some of the acting in the new trilogy. Dark Soul is currently in preproduction so I release date is impossible at this point.

  • dhsibauxjt

  • This series is the best Iv seen made by starwars fans. It was well put together, the story was interesting and the music and scenery made it feel like it was part of the starwars universe. I will admit it was alittle dorky but hey it was all part of the fun...5 stars!

  • Thanks, we worked hard to make it not look like a backyard home movie.

I like my movies with extra cheese. Must be a side effect of growing up watching the Evil Dead trilogy.

  • hahaha Its all in good fun
