I have a question theres a vid on youtube called the voca people happy birthday.At a point there comes some pictures and some text in the vid.Is it POSSIBLE to mask it make the oppacity 0 and put in my own pics and text?

@VVK28 I guess you can create 2 mask layers, but I don't know how XD I have after effects cs4, in that version its easy, I guess it isn't in cs3. I'm watching these videos cause I don't have any fucking idea about after effects and thanewboston explains well, who cares about if its cs3 or cs4 :D

Ive got a problem with after effects masking, i hope you can help me. Whenever i use the pen tool or any other masking tool, the part that i masked the inner part, in your tutorial it cuts out the mask, but in my case its just a mask, and i doesnt do anything. it doesnt cut out the part i masked... please reply!

that mask opacity is rather backwards. It isn't a representation of the mask's opacity (as it leads you to think) but the opacity of what ISN'T masked. Weird. I wonder how you'd reduce the opacity of what the mask is covering.
