What a lame product release. The model standing next to the scanners had what looks like a Canon sticker on her arm?? Huh? I love you bringing in your hot pink NIkon - nice touch.
So much for the D60 - Canon's version of Duke Nukem.
If you look at the AVCHD specs.. there is NO 1080p. If you did some research, you would know that it captures at 1080p and puts it in a 1080i container... meaning theres no loss in quality. Same with NEX5, it captures in 1080p and records in a 1080i container.. you know what a container is, right?
Kai, and everyone at DRTV, the nex and the vg-10 record in 1080P then it is stored in an interlaced container as 60i. please do your homework before spouting lies.
Well, i guess at least some people want to print their own photographs or scan documents with the more recent devices (catch the irony on the words)
now i start to feel that pinkenta paint is some kind of kai´s corrossive essence projected on things. (hope it´s not a horcrux or something like this) LOL!
Could anyone explain to me what benefit Interlaced footage offers, and why Sony would release anything other than progressive scan cameras in this day and age? Are there actually people out there who prefer interlaced?
I can understand TV stations broadcasting interlaced signals, but they use high end cameras, and the NEX-VG10 is clearly for the consumer market (or 'prosumer' at best). The average person not in broadcasting has not use for interlaced.
@videochemist the average joe still doesn't know the difference between interlaced and progressive either. Also, sony is just milking it as much as they can, soon enough there's gonna be a "new" version with the features that this one should have had.
LX5- would have been interesting several years ago but in today's market, BORING. NEX-VG10, far more interesting, but it could have been so much more desirable with just a few easy additions- for example 24 fps. What I'm most excited about are the video capabilities in the upcoming Nikon DSLRs. They don't have a video camera division, hence no incentive to cripple the video like Panasonic/Canon/Sony. Olympus/Nikon/Pentax really need to step up their video.
I am really looking forward for the Sony Camera... I can be really good for wedding when filming at low light. And still i want to know about news from canon! Great news as allways! :)
